What have you based the "manage possession of the football" on? How many games have you used and what exactly do you mean by this?

Our goal against portugal came directly from a corner and was scored by a centre half.

OK so we'll just speculate so. Is it mcclean? His defending on Wednesday was hopeless. Or maybe Robbie Keane as he will probably want the job himself. Damien Duff maybe, he left pretty sharpish.

Couple blazers. Kennys had a few sly digs at them a few times in the media.

Some absolutely brutal stuff there. Finishing third ahead of Luxembourg and Azerbaijan is in no way unrealistic for this group of players. It would be par for us in this group - was always very unlikely that we would get into the top 2 with our current squad, but initially unthinkable that we would do worse than third. Even after the three defeats third must remain the clear target.

But then, if you think someone like Adam Idah is that bad a player, maybe you'd be better off supporting some other team or sport, because you obviously don't have a clue what you're talking about here.

His goal tally is 0. If he's that good, he can go and score a few goals instead of firing blanks like his teammates.

Third is not a target, never was, never will be, unless you're MON where you can qualify if you finish third. We finished third under Staunton, and he was sacked as it was 11 points off qualification. That's how useful finishing third is.

There is a large difference between coming third and failing to qualify (even if you are a long way off), and coming bottom of a group (with more than one lower ranked team in the group) with no wins at all.

I suppose id be interested how progress is progress if you dont win a game for 18 months. Passing the ball a little crisper, and bringing in a few new names and faces is not a rebuild or a top down reboot.
