Turned down the Swansea job last summer so clubs are looking at him. Was on the same Pro License course as Anthony Barry so possibly Barry recommended him to Kenny as someone to approach. |

very highly regarded at Qpr . Warburton has fallen out of favour so might not be no 2 for much longer.

Which could be bad for us, no way if he got the main job would he be coming to us part time.

If he turned down the Swansea job in the summer just gone, he'd be just as likely to turn down the QPR job if it comes up. Big difference being full time manager and a no.2 in terms of clocking off. Wouldn't worry about it for the time being anyway.

We could appoint Pep Guardiola as assistant manager and there would be at least one person giving out

Would be just our luck. "The FAI would like to thank John Eustace for his service at the Belgium fixture and wish him well in his new role as Manager of QPR"

It didn't. First 3 games with Barry were 3-2 to Serbia, 0-1 to Lux, & 1-1 with Qatar. I think people are over stating Barry's influence. The upswing in form (Oct/Nov) coincided directly with the injury/covid list finally calming down after missing 12-15 players every window for the prior 12 months.

48,000 tickets sold for Saturday that’s some response. Only premium tickets left. To think that Delaney was giving away tickets by the barrow load 3 years ago.

Big time. The beginning of the upswing was really June 2021 with the training camp and 2 friendlies against Andorra and Hungary when the squad were together for 2/3 weeks and had a proper chance to work and bond together without any Covid casualties or restrictions. The bigger contributing factor to the poor results previous to that IMO was the 3 games in 7 days. We had little time to even work on the basics, practically having 1 full day on the training ground and no time for recovery. Our small squad made it difficult to rotate along with the impact of covid withdrawals. Its easy to forget we had over 20 absent senior players at the height of covid. Another issue was having no fans in the stadium for games which make a massive difference too. I dont think its any coincidence there were half a dozen of anomaly results for minnows in that period. I recall Germany being beat by Macedonia when were beat by Luxemburg, think Spain lost to Georgia too? Anyway, there was a number of reasons why the form shifted and it certainly all wasnt down to one man. |

On the one hand, we're demanding a top level coach to come in, and then on the other, we're hoping they don't attract interest from good managerial jobs or other coaching opportunities.
We can't have it both ways. There is no coach out there who wouldn't ditch international football for an opportunity at club management or a better international team. It's a part-time gig, and there are plenty of coaches out there. We don't pay enough to be expecting a coach to stick around for 4 years. All you can hope is that they have a list of replacements ready when Eustace gets attracted by a better opportunity.
