Sargent and Barnes both started and scored.

Think Norwich expecting Omobamidele to be sold, think they planning for season without him, Aaron’s also left out before he went. More concerned about Idah, behind even Springett in pecking order on left where he got few starts last year. And 3rd choice behind Sargeant and Barnes for 9/10 roles.

Yes, looks to be 3rd choice for now, but manager rates him, so I wouldnt be too concerned just yet. Duffy had a very good game. Omo I think is on the bench as he is expected to be sold. Springett didnt do much. Mc Namara had a very poor game, while Emakhu cam off the bench and scored a sweet gosl into the bottom corner.

Early injury to Sargent sees Idah come on, grabs an assist for Jon Rowe just after half time to put Norwich 3 up.

Gets his goal, smart finish.

Sargeant off injured, hopefully this is the start of a decent run for Adam now.

Subbed on and then subbed off before the end after his two contributions, which suggests they know he's going to be an important player for them for the next while.

Jaysus this lad was going nowhere during the week. Good to see him back on track.

All jokes aside he took his goal well you would love to see him get 70-90 minutes every week in a Championship team. Think hed be capable of getting 15 goals plus.

There's writing someone off and then there's the other end of it.

Great to see him get on the score sheet but lets not expect a player who has 8 goals in his senior club career to date get 15+ goals.

Really depends on his fitness and getting starts tbh, 30+ starts and I'd give him a good chance of scoring  10+ goals in what is a good well managed attacking team. There's no doubt he looks to have gained a bit of confidence with his first goal for his country and now, a more than decent start to the season. Without wishing a serious injury on the lad, I do hope Sargent is out for a while.

Fitness and a consistent run of games is his biggest issue. Definitely think he can get at least 10 goals if he stays injury-free this season. Unfortunately, his history would suggest that’s very unlikely.

Sargent out for the majority of the season by the looks of things.

Time for Adam to step up.

Did well Sat when he came on. Just seen the highlights but played a lovel ball in for the 3rd goal and finished nicely for the 4th. Although he was in acres of space. Needs to back it up over 5/10 games consistently. Hopefully he will and take his chance.

Agreed. As with everything Irish football, I'm looking for Progress, not Miracles.

Idah now has 2 goals & 1 assist this season, so he's equaled last season already with 89mins played (Last season he got 1 EFL Cup goal too).

His highest season League tally was 3 goals 1 assist in 2020/21.

That's the main thing, staying fit & playing regularly, the goals will come. The other worry is whenever Sargent comes back that Idah gets benched again. He can't afford a fourth season sitting on the bench.

100% fitness has held Idah back massively and he was on the verge of a bit of a breakout in 21/22 looking well able for PL football until injury once again struck.

Id say the same about Connolly with 70-90 minutes every week for a Championship side. 10-15 goals more than achievable.

Exactly, nailed it. We can talk all we want but he has to stay fit. Even at the weekend he had to go off with cramp and he hadn’t even played from the start. He has lots of ability but that’s not much good if he can’t play game after game.
