Nobody wants to banish him anywhere but he needs to get himself on the pitch, either at Norwich or on loan. He has been overtaken in the pecking order by a couple now, christ even Connolly could be back ahead of him if he keeps starting for Hull and chips in with a few more goals. Half a season to go at Norwich and plenty of time to work his way in but its another season where he hasnt really progressed. Obviously some of that due to injury but Ferguson is now on the scene and from the looks of it is a significant upgrade in what Idah can do. Idah hasnt improved much in a good 3 years now. Striker is a position where we have a lot of real prospects at a similar age to Idah.

lost his place when Norwich scored 4 in a game he missed but they've drawn blanks in the last 2 games so should get a look in from the start now.

He's actually starting a game tonight, as a CF too. Happy days.

Completed the full 90 this evening. Only his third time to play a full 90 in two seasons, that is mainly due to his injury issues.
Had some good moments. Involved in the build up for Sargent's goal. Had a good one on one chance with the keeper but fluffed it wide. He created two good chances for Dowell and Sargent who fluffed their chances too. It surprised me that is has a good pass in his locker. He worked hard, pressed the Hull defenders in possession all night Hopefully Idah can get more starts and a good run in the side for the rest of the season. |

interesting discussion on him in the last two days on the Norwich fan site. Despite the OP, most contributors are reasonably positive and open minded.

Really interesting thread. I have always held the view that he would make it as a good striker at a good level - whether that good level is lower Premiership or upper Championship mostly depends on the run of form. For example, last season before his injury when he was playing and scoring I thought he'd be there for good in the Premiership. Now, I am not that sure. The posters making the point he needs a run of games are very right. If he can get that and get goals then, as many of them say, he has enough of everything else to be a good striker. Hopefully he keeps away from injuries and in favour with Wagner for the rest of this season and there will be more evidence to go on.

The long term contract they gave him is very indicative of how they see him. Personally think Pukki will be on his way out the door this summer and Sargent and Idah will be the main men up top taking over the mantle.
They will be 22/23 years old respectively next season so will be at the right age to start gradually taking that responsibility. I know this season hasn’t worked out but Norwich are a well run club they know what they are doing upstairs. Only worry I have for Idah is staying injury free. If he can do that he will turn into a decent striker how decent remains to be seen.

Would love to be proven wrong but don't think this lad will ever consistently do it at Championship level, never mind international.

Typically sh*t take that I've come to expect on here., another run out for a lad who's barely played in the last year.. With fans like these, who needs enemies?

Now now it’s Irish fans who think “Football doesn’t exist outside of England” “Still think clubs dropping an Irish player is a disaster clubs only play with 11 players and not 22 as modern day clubs do” Basically most Irish football fans still live in the 1980s in terms of thinking “ignorant Englanders” A lad not scoring twice a game off the bat was never going to go down well.
