Yeah, likely agent-talk to keep pressure on any Armstrong xfer.
Realistically, we should ignore all transfer talk until such a time as a lad is doing a medical as it's mostly smoke and mirrors. |

Norwich have signed an American forward from Werder Bremen this evening, some added competition for Idah there. Still wouldn't be surprised if he ended up going out on loan.

One of him or Hugill is “leaving” or going out on loan in Idahs case. I have a feeling Farke will try a 3-5-2 this season in games which brings both the young American and Idah/Hugill into it with Pukki up front. Will be interesting. Either way PL experience or a Championship loan would be great for Idah. He will be only 20 for most of this season so young for a striker.

Sargent seems to have 5 goals in 32 Bundesliga games. Not sure if he's a wide forward or centre forward or both. Either way, no harm have the competition. I'd be fairly sure it's Hugill that they will move on and keep Pukki, Idah and Sargent as their centre forwards with the potential for maybe Idah and Sargent filling in as wide forwards too if they don't have two up top.
They were always going to sign another striker. At least it's not 15 or 20m on Armstrong. I call that a result for Idah if this is their business done.

I've seen hugely play a lot when he was at Preston and he's not premier league quality. I think Idah will prove the better option in good time

Buying a winger for £10m today as well. Greek international, a year younger than Idah. Obviously Idah's a striker but with Pukki there he'd be hoping for game time out wide also, so some more competition for him now.

Just shows how hard it is to get a breakthrough at Premier League level these days. This winger they've signed has 42 apperances and 7 goals in the Greek League, it's hardly heart stopping stuff, yet the fact that he has had the chance to play consistently at a senior level of football dictates that he's now worth 15 odd million euro. How many goals would Idah score at a similar level if given the chance? Perhaps a loan move to the championship would be best for him in the long term.

These players are young and coming from the Bundesliga and Greek league, they'll tak time to get used to Prem League, Idah will get chances. Maybe reasses in Jan if its not happening but dont see point of him running out on loan the minute theres a bit of competition.

Also, 15m for a 19 year olf from the Greek League, just shows how undervalued players in the LOI are...and the potential to aim for.

This Greek lad has a goals to games record similar to Aaron Connolly, except he's playing at a level that is probably inferior to the Championship.
Yet we write off Connolly and management at Brighton don't seem to think much of him either. It really is harder than ever to get your breakthrough at a Premier League club at the moment.

Absolutely. This guy didn't play vs Bohemians the other night but if someone told me there was a 19 year old amongst the two squads who would be transferring for 15 million in a few weeks I'd of said it was Dawson Devoy 😂
