Can't see Idah going anywhere. Not with his injury record and being third choice when fit behind Pukki and Sargent who both usually start.
Derby wouldn't be a bad shout if Smith were to actually let Idah leave. Whatever about the level but he'd get plenty of game time and David McGoldrick is there who could teach Idah a thing or two. |

"Back on the grass" Great to see. Hopefully he can put the injuries behind him like Obafemi & now Smallbone. Would still like to see him go on loan in January, consistent starts are what he needs & he won't get them at Norwich. Sargent is joint top scorer in the Championship, & Pukki is Pukki, neither will be dropped to get Idah the required gametime to get him up to speed.

He is more than capable of being a very good striker at that level. Just because he is Irish doesn't mean he isn't as good as Sargent or an aging Pukki

A 6 month loan spell to build his fitness and gain some confidence wouldn't be a bad thing. A League One team who are pushing for promotion would be ideal. Playing for a team that will win most games. Is Pukki really ageing at 32? Some of the best strikers in world football are 32+ at the moment. Just look at Lewandowski, Benzema, Giroud, Dzeko, Choupo-Moting, etc. Pukki has never been lightning quick, so he should have some extra longevity.

Plenty of opportunities for Idah to get minutes at Norwich.
Smiths a fan of Idah and only for injury could have finished the season playing up front with Pukki. Both players looked like they were starting to click and might have formed a partnership. Norwich look like they either play a 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2. It doesn't have to be a Pukki or Sargent that Idah has to replace because last season he played with both Pukki and Sargent in a 4-4-2. If Smith is open to Idah going on loan then the Derby link could be interesting as he'll link up with McGoldrick who can maybe teach him a thing or two. |

And Pukki will be free to talk to teams outside England about a pre contract come January 1st. Good chance he'll be looking for a better contract than he's currently on and goes abroad somewhere like MLS or middle east to get it. It will be in Smith's interest to give Idah the minutes if his fitness holds up. |

Possibly, or maybe he's settled at a club where he's played the best football of his career. We don't just need Idah getting minutes. He's always gotten minutes. We need him to start games regularly. A long run of starts is what he needs at this stage of his career. Then hopefully the goals will come. Worryingly, he's started a lot of games for Ireland... but not been able to score.

Needs to eased back in very cautiously and managed like Obafemi has been to get back to where he was. Hopefully hes over the worst of it now and doesn't suffer further setbacks or too many niggles from lack of playing.

I don't think a loan is a good idea for Idah. Although he's been injured a lot, I think he's shown enough in his cameos, even at PL level, that he can be a good option and a potential goal threat at the top end of the championship. If he can stay injury-free, he's the striker we have who has the most rounded game; can finish, aerial threat, hold-up play, speed, etc.
Staying injury-free is obviously his biggest issue. That mightn't be appreciated if he goes on loan somewhere.

Good news. Idah + Obfemi could be our best forwards combo now. Omobamidele looks like he'll be a very cultured footballer. I can still picture his shot in the last moments away to Portugal.

Fantastic to here they are both back fit and firing! Need to both stay fit now! 2 talented footballers with the potential to be top flight standard injuries the only thing holding them back so far!

Well in Dean Smiths press conference he also added that his medical staff now call Idah a “joint-compromised athlete”. |

Good to hear both are back fit. Hopefully both can get an injury free run now and get playing consistently.

Got whole second half tonight but was quite poor on the ball tbh as Norwich lost to 10 man Luton.. Ironically still improved team with running behind and being available - but more to do with team shape. I think he is a better player than he showed tonight? I reckon Smith will be fired after tonight so needs next manager to give him a run. Didn't do enough tonight to deserve that though.

Had it on in the background. Half the time hes outside the box so his chances of scoring are low anyway. Scuffed a free kick and wasnt really involved much. Still think he can play a role for us. Hopefully he will get decent game time and pick up a few goals along the way.
