Can't believe you got McPhail and Marbury and missed Gary Kelly.

Think Darren Potter played in a preliminary round for Liverpool the year they won it in Istanbul. As did Robbie Keane actually for Inter which cup tied him for the Leeds run to the semi.

On the bench.

Yep, 3 youngsters (KWP, JF and RS), some squad players and one recognised striker (Lucas) who's really only 3rd choice, and all for a dead rubber.

In those circumstances, we now know where TP comes in the pecking order i.e. 5th choice striker.

Which for a 17 y.o. at a club like Spurs, who already have 3 or 4 truly excellent strikers, is actually a tribute to the lad.

Those who were predicting league starts for him soon were way over the top.

5th choice striker? Who are the 4 ahead of him?

Kane and Son are both first team players, moura and Erikson would be Second choice. Surely Parrott is around 3rd choice now?

Kane, Son, Moura (35 caps for Brazil) and Dele (goalscoring attacking midfielder).

No, what I said was that it was much too early for himn to be considered a proper first team squad player just yet - and that was under Poch, who is known for trying out youngsters, unlike Mourinho.

Which is not to say he couldn't get a chance in friendlies or unimportant cup games etc.

I'm also a Spurs fan. Which means I'd be entirely happy if he turned out to be, say, another Robbie Keane (always a favourite of mine).

What have I been saying?

It's Mourinho: not interested in youngsters/homegrowns, despite what he says in press conferences to satisfy the gullible.

He's 17.

Think about that.

17.

Unless something turns up, he'll stiill be at Spurs long after that prick Mourinho has gone (fingers crossed).

What did Mourinho gain by bringing on wanyama and Spurs 3 - 1 down with 9 mins to go.. would of been far more beneficial to give Troy his champions league debut in front of 70,000 against some world class players . These young players need minutes in these type of games to help them develop and to get more confidence . History tells us Troy won't get many chances under Mourinho.

This is the bit their all failing to grasp.

Also, Parrott played against Colchester and didn't particularly play well, and this is against Munich one of the elite teams in Europe.

Plus you could argue that Kane and Son are not 1st and 2nd choice. They are both 1st as the will both start in the first 11.

By letting experienced players stay at home and Jose saying all week its a chance for the youngsters to impress it was an odd move. The game meant nothing.

He did play some of the younger players KWP, Sessongen , Foyth and Skipp but it made little sense to bring on Son and Wanyama.

Opportunity missed to give Troy his CL debut and a massive boost to his confidence.

Oh ffs!

If Spurs are stuck for strikers, or need to bolster their attack in an important game, which of the two do you think Mourinho will turm to to fill the gap, Dele or Troy?

There are people on here who are really getting ahead of themselves over TP. Maybe they should try to think of it another way, like what if he were eg English?

Rhian Brewster is an outstanding striking prospect at Liverpool, has got into the England U-21 team and is two years older than Troy, yet you don't get England fans demanding that Klopp pick him.

Assuming he's the real deal, TP's time will come. But it is silly to imagine that that time is now.
