There are numerous examples of a player in Spain or Italy etc that were the leading scorers for most of a season but were never given a chance at International level. Which is what you are arguing.
Will Keane was scoring in League 1 last season just like Parrott. Will Keane played for Ireland and was very poor. Parrott had scored for Ireland and done ok so he was ahead of him. By your logic Parrott should have been out of the squad after 4 games in the Championship this season and Will Keane put ahead of him for the games against Scotland and Armenia. We have some upcoming games in November and you'd expect that other strikers will get a chance as Parrott wasn't great in his two games. |

Plus he's injured and out until after the WC, but yes he was pretty poor in the last window.

Update from last week: Lowe said: “He's not far off his leg being straight now, he's down to one crutch, he's still in a brace. He's bubbly and happy around the place. He's actually down at Tottenham for two days now just for them to assess him, he'll be back with us on Monday. "He's doing well, it's going alright but it's slow healing. We'll hopefully have him back after the international break. He's in with the lads, he's watching them play snooker on their breaks and he comes into our office before games, he's around the group after games. He's a good character to have around. I think the more he's around the group the better it will be for him. He'll get some time away next week with his family and he can come back with a bigger smile on his face when he's out of the brace and off the crutches. He's got another week in the brace.” |

I wonder is the reason why he went to pot this season that he was playing the no. 9 role. As far as I remember, Tottenham insisted he be given that role as part of the loan deal. He was playing more of a no. 10 last season at MK Dons with much more success, albeit in League 1.

I still hold out hope for this lad. He seems to have a decent attitude (other than a couple of dodgy friends!). Any word on his rehab?

He's kicked cigarettes and booze, now he just needs to get over the rollerblading.

Targeting early January return: "...the only one is obviously Troy. He won't be with us anytime soon - he
was ill for a week but is progressing well out on the grass. He is
kicking a ball, which I don't like just yet, but it's small passes and
what not. He's doing alright and on the way to a full recovery.
"Troy has his own timeframe! It's only a couple of weeks away, but the physios might think differently. We'll just monitor him as we go; I don't want to say too soon, but he'll be with us in the next three or four weeks I would've thought. If I can get to January and we can have Troy Parrott fit and available, for Stoke away, it'll be a big bonus." |

Preston sign Liam Delap on loan which likely eat into Parrotts minutes somewhat when he gets fit.

Suggestion seems to be that Parrott is pretty much guaranteed minutes in his loan contract - the amount of his wages that Preston have to pay goes up significantly if they don't play him. That's pretty common for loan deals from top 6 clubs. Delap's will be the same. Tom Cannon would be the loser here if he doesn't have something similar in his contract.

Would have him as our 6th choice striker right now. He needs to start scoring goals when he comes back from injury.
