Idah looks like he could be a serious threat for the future, size and pace. Hopefully Kenny will bring him through to the senior ranks

A pity that we are "in between" FIFA u-20 world cup years. In even years, 5 of the 8 that qualify for this also get into the u20 world cup, which would be great experience for the team.

Having said that, we have quite a few of this group eligible again next year, especially the forwards. I guess they are likely to get fast-tracked to u21 or even the senior team though.

It's a major achievement for this Ireland team to qualify for a finals competition with only 8 teams in it. England didn't qualify and they won the under 17 World Cup winning team with this team 2 years ago, albeit without some of their star players like Sancho, Foden and Hudson-Odoi who have moved up to the full or under 21 teams.

However, Ireland were also without at least 5 of our better players and still won all 3 games, scoring 10 goals and conceding only 1. We really need to consider fast-tracking Idah, Parrott and some of our other better youngsters to the full side. If England with their greater resources are prepared to promote Sancho and Hudson-Odoi to the 1st team then we definitely should be doing this.

Having said this I still want them all to be made available for the under 19 finals this summer.
