Strange game. Croatia were in control of the play, while France controlled the score board.

At times France played like they'd had a man sent off. Not really the way you'd expect a champion to win. Never do they really ever seek to drive home their advantage.

And the long-ball is back. Although I'm not sure you're allowed to call it a long-ball if the players involved are worth hundreds of millions.
Swap Mbappe with Sterling and Southgate is the tactical genius who brought football home.

Hopefully they played like that in this tournament because they suffered a loss of confidence after defeat to Portugal at the Euros.

That French team should be more ruthless, not just doing enough to win.

Doing enough is more of what you'd expect from Italy, but it hasn't always worked out for them. Deschamps may plan for all eventualities but he couldn't have guessed that Lloris would give away such a soft goal.

And they had their luck with the free-kick and penalty, and the Croatian keeper look injured yesterday too.

The more ruthless they become the less they leave to chance. And that will be good for every one who wants to see France play to its maximum potential.

Even Modric's hooter got lost in there when she hugged (molested) him, twice.

An excellent world cup. Impecably ran up until the few protesters got on to the pitch in the final game. Virtually no trouble inside or outside the grounds.

Croatia would have been fitting winners having played the best football throughout. Still, France were deserved winners in a final that will be remembered for six goals and a controversial VAR decision that divided fans and pundits alike everywhere, including here.

VAR helped to make this tournament more fairer than hitherto and that was most welcome.

If only we could have been there...Cry

is that your way to tell us that you tried to perform the act as per squire's drawing at age 19?

Unfortunately I don't think I was ever as flexible as it appears Mr. Squires was at such an age. LOL
