It was a strange world cup in that, the man who finished 2 clear of the rest in the race for the golden boot didn't have a great tournament, and the striker for the winners never had a shot on target never mind a goal!

Got down to champs elysees for a while after the match yesterday, serious atmosphere! Will see if i can get away from work later on for the open bus tour.

Thought croatia were very harshly done by. Should have been 1 nil up at HT, blatant griezmann dive and no way a peno for me. But 2nd half, france were very good Clap

The best team by far won the World Cup, unfortunately they are also a very sterile team. Incredibly clinical in front of goal and physical in midfield with the only flair coming from Mbappé and the ****ish Griezmann.
They won't be remembered with much fondness outside of France.

Does anyone think the ref would have given the pen against Brazil or Germany ? Not a chance. And how can a ref that was suspended by the Argentinian FA in the past for some questionable decisions even get close to this gig ?

This French team should be European and WC champions...
Still a young team so interesting to see what they can achieve in the next 4 years.
IMO they won’t be known as a ‘great’ team.

Considering a referee overturned a decision against Germany which ultimately knocked them out against Korea, I would say yes.

Was wondering about that as well when I heard about that suspension.  How did he manage to even get near the FIFA list of referees in the 1st place, never mind get reffing the world cup final? Confused

The peno shouldn't have been given. It wasn't a deliberate handball and Perisics arm wasn't in an unnatural position given the circumstances.
