You'd swear it was a common occurrence. Whatever disruption the announcement yesterday caused has been made 10 times worse by this decision

You can't have your Country undermined by that carry on. They were right to sack him. He'll be doing well to stay at Madrid beyond a year I'd say due to this carry on. Can't imagine many of the fans will give him much time due to what he's done to the National Team.

With this being one of the few world cups the Dutch haven't qualified for, the Spanish have stepped in to fill the void as the team most likely to shoot themselves in the foot.

Sure MON whored himself to Everton and Stoke and we gave him a new contract and he is useless!  Don't know nough of the details to comment on Spain's situation

Maybe with Stoke but not with Everton afaik.  Anyway we should have been pushing him out the door.

Why couldn't he aNd Madrid have a gentleman's agreement that he would be the new manager and they would do the necessary work after the WC. It would have been leaked and all he would have to say is I will assess my situation after the WC.

This is Real Madrid, he's hardly going to have a bigger and better option even if he had won the WC that he would sign for and stitch up Real.

It's been done in the past however! Sir Bobby agreed to join PSV on the eve of Italia '90.

The fact that the players were united behind him probably makes it a very bad decision. 20 games 0 losses and the full backing of the dressing room is a big ask to replace.

With the full consent of the FA.

The Spanish FA only found 5mins before it was announced yesterday
