I may have lived a fairly sheltered life until now but I had never heard this song until last night.

depends what you consider "much" better

They're playing better football but I don't think either side has what it takes to take the points needed off 1st or 2nd seeds at present

The fact they sing England's anthem and not their own is reason enough to boo them. Imagine us singing Scotlands anthem and not our own. f**king embarrassing. The least they can do is like every other country, come up with their own anthem.

They could always rip off another English favourite and start using 12 German Bombers, it's had more than a few renditions in Windsor Park already IIRC...

A United Ireland is not going to be the same as present just with 32 counties.  The unionists would have to be integrated into society and concessions would no doubt have to be made.  The flag and anthem would probably have to change amongst other things.

Come the day and come the hour
Come the power and the glory
We have come to answer Our Country's call
From the four proud provinces of Ireland

Ireland, Ireland Together standing tall
Shoulder to shoulder
We'll answer Ireland's call

Ya, it’ll probably rhyme ‘ball’ with ‘call’, ‘fall’ and ‘tall’ - a real f**king work of art 🙄🙄

depressing stuff, its bad enough our football is sh*t ,or manager is sh*t,after Thursday it seems some of fans behavior is sh*t (im talking about the Muppets that attacked the northern fans),after watching the rugdy last night ,it makes you wonder when we will experience nights like that again at the aviva with this squad,it would drive to drink

Seeing Bundiyaki or whatever his name is belting out Amhrain Na BhFiann says it all. Absolutely gunning to play for the country. I know our footballers aren't very talented but they're a bunch of wimps really on top of that. Meh, I'm losing interest altogether, as I'm sure most of the country already have.
Regarding the fans. The last away game I was at was Vienna where we won and that was great, but I wouldn't even go to a tournament now, totally different crowd. Father Ted flags and lads making videos for social media sums the whole thing up. F**k that. Leave it to the kids.

Most of the country only take an interest when we are doing well anyway. The game before the famous Germany win we had 31k at the qualifier against Georgia. Agree it depressing now and something got to change. Wont stop me following the team - thats what defines real support for me - showing up when things are rock bottom.
