I'm assuming he's referring to his hilarious attempt at a finish at the end of the first leg when he should have made it 4-0.

The media are incredibly biased towards Liverpool. George Hamilton last night was sickening when talking about them. Off The Ball are basically just a radio show dedicated to fawning over Liverpool. Liverpool roadshow after Liverpol roadshow. Got a competition? Here's a Liverpool jersey? How about another competition? Here's John Aldridge in the Back Page. Then there's Sky. You'd swear City were out of the title race. Sheer volume of ex Liverpool players as pundits adds to it. You'd swear Klopp was the Messiah the way they go on about him. Mourinho kicks a bottle he's a knob. Klopp shouts in the ear of the 4th offical it's PASSION!! Anfield is quiet for league games. You could hear a butterfly fart at some of the matches but apparently it has the best atmosphere in the world. May be it does twice a year. But the media do nothing but talk about the famous Anfield atmosphere. Basically Liverpool are adored by the media |

Usually the antics that Suarez was up to would annoy me, but I was very amused by his pantomine villain act last night.

Certainly in Ireland. My understanding of it has been that Ireland is pretty evenly split on the Liverpool/Manchester United divide, but Liverpool fans have to be seen to be bigger fans. They pretend they have 'passion'. A local pub in the town I am from used to have the 'Clonakilty Kop' in the bar for big games with banners up and people with reserved seats and replica jerseys and scarves expected. Chanting will be in a fake scouse accent (f**k knows why, maybe they can't do Welsh, Cockney or Norwegian) and basically being absolute idiots. Some of these are really nice people, people whose company I enjoyed, yet put their Liverpool jersey on certain Tuesday and Wednesday nights and they turn into f**king eejits. Manchester United fans care about 'their' team just as much, but you don't get that sort of sh*thousery and bollocksology. When I was younger I thought it was my town, but it is Liverpool fans from everywhere but Liverpool. That Guardian clip a year or two back about the bunch of 'redmen' in Brighton could have been made in West Cork, with a few adjustments. The media feed into that, so in Ireland they take a Liverpool stance. This is made easier by the number of ex-Irish players there are who played for Liverpool, which is part of the excuse Irish Liverpool fans use for supporting them in the first place. It all feeds into itself. Which is why I always had a soft spot for Everton. Edited by pre Madonna - 08 May 2019 at 1:34pm |

Honestly, its just the fans grind my gears, especially living in Ireland. You really just want to laugh at your mates at the end of the day, but that doesn't really work if they end up winning the Champions League. I think they deserve to win it and are fantastic to watch, but you won't hear the end of it if they do.

Agree with the last post, playing great football and deserve to be where there are.
But there is a large majority of the fans that just want you to see them fall at the last hurdle.

I watched the Champions League final in Dtwo in town last year. We knew town would be packed so we opted for somewhere with loads of big screens. I didn't actually care who won earlier in the day but after 5 seconds in Dtwo, I was hoping Real would do me a favour. Grown men in replica kits affecting Scouse accents and acting like absolute pricks If Aliens ever arrive and take over the world, how will we explain this situation to them. Is it some sort of post colonial Stockholm syndrome? `

The Living Room was the exact same. Bunch of wannabe scouse hooligans starting on people for applauding Bale's overhead. Think it's been mentioned on the forum before but in terms of fanbase in Ireland, Liverpool fans are of a higher scrotient (I think was the word used on the forum at the time) level than United fans or fans of other clubs.
