His first issue is getting back to full fitness. After that who knows.

Think he has the world of ability but his spitting the dummy out after not getting the move initially last summer has proven detrimental and might end up setting him back two seasons!

Not to underestimate how braindead it was of Swansea to not leave him go for the money offered btw. All parties lost out due to it.

What does acknowledging the EPL's clear higher standard than the Swiss League have to do with Brexit? LOL

Are you a bit slow or just thick?

Lots of PL fan questions a player's ability if he's not "PL proven" or comes from a lesser known league.

Salah had scored 9 goals from 47 Swiss Super League games when Chelsea signed him.

Isn't that normal in every walk of life? If you take a step up to a higher level, the jury is out until you prove yourself at that higher level.

Just admit it if someone other than O'Shea said that you wouldn't have reacted the same way.

What he said was for once very reasonable. The Premier League is the best league in the world. There's no guarantee that someone from the Swiss league will be able to translate his success in a much inferior league to the Premier League. Better players have come with bigger expectations and had a worse impact. Maybe he will light it up, but his arrival alone isnt a death knell for Obafemi.

Obafemi's biggest issue is that he ended up wasting an entire season which has hurt him in terms of fitness, consistency and momentum.

Tbh that is his only issue, he clearly has the ability, but he has never really been able to maintain his fitness levels for a prolonged period. The one time he managed to stay fit for 3 months plus, he delivered. I'd be concerned that fitness will be an ongoing issue for Obafemi, his muscular build and explosive pace will always leave him susceptible to the hamstring issues which have plagued his career to date. No club can afford to rely on a striker who is only intermittently available, so unless he can find a solution to these issues, he is never going to command a regular starting position at any top level club. The best we can probably hope for this season is that he manages to stay fit and that the manager uses him regularly  from the bench.

Lots of players who aren't "PL proven" adapt to it. It's an arrogant view from most English fans. Irish fans have become like that more and more, and now look down on The Championship despite it being a good league compared to most other European leagues outside of the top 5/6.

Who said it was a death knell?

The signing of Amouni for a reasonably high fee is relevant to Obafemi, but I never said that his Burnley career is over. It's just a potential hurdle.

Their ST options could end up being Weghorst, Foster, Obafemi, Amdouni and Jay Rodriguez. One might leave.

Exactly. Admitting your lack of intelligence and inability to comprehend basic concepts is the 1st step on your road to recovery. I don't think they can cure being a prick though. Unfortunate.

In this context yes, that is being judgemental. Would still contend that in certain sectors that type of attitude would unfortunately still be normal, although perhaps a bit antiquated. Hard to compare average Joe in the office to top level athletes earning millions a year, I suppose. I think definitely in sports, it's normal and not judgemental. Perhaps due to the physical nature of the activity rather than a perceived level of intelligence?
