New Umbro retro gear on elverys. And all full price. Could umbro be back under a different supplier? Few Loi clubs with umbro for the current season. |
This stuff has been on sale in the Elverys shops for a while so it's probably just legacy stuff.
|
No this stuff was only added in last few days. It's the 1992-2003 crest on the gear. And is at full price.

Yeah, I was looking at it in the Elverys shop near Grafton Street before Christmas.

Don’t see how its strange to be honest. Its was simply the licence holder that went bust not UMBRO. As said above, UMBRO would simply have given the licence to someone else.
The FAIs deal was with Top Lion/JACC Sports and not UMBRO, hencebwhy they could terminate the contract.
The clubs mentioned in all likelihood have just switch to the current licence holder. |
Strange as in we haven’t heard of anyone taking up the licence. I would’ve assumed it’d be news worthy considering what happened to the previous crowd.

Also, as an aside, just finished Roddys book. He fairly puts the boot into JC Snr

Wouldn't be newsworthy at all.
Umbro wouldn't be making a song and dance about giving someone a licence to sell on their behalf in Ireland, its just another business decision for them. Umbro themselves could take the decision to supply direct either.

I know Rovers announced that they had been working on the 2023 Umbro gear since last summer and it would be going ahead - No more detail than that.

I was in Elverys in Dungarvan a couple of weeks ago and saw the new retro stock. I know the guy working there and he said its a new range of stock and it wasn't a back up of old stock that they are trying to move on now.

Of course it’d be newsworthy, not front page news but someone buying the licence after JACC had it for 30odd years and supplied the national team is a story.

I definitely think it is nicer than some of the other retro stuff that JACC did.

They wouldn't be buying the licence to supply the Ireland gear so I doubt anybody would care too much.

Yes, I wasn't saying it wasn't JACC gear.

This stuff had been for sale in Elvery's in stores since before Christmas, imagine it is just a case of selling as much of the Umbro stock now before a new deal is confirmed
