The only 2 bidders are Germany and Turkey.
Turkey have locked up 47,000 of its own citizens in the last 9 months since the coup attempt, including civil servants, judges, police, army personnel, journalists etc.

Germany 2024 it is so.

Was wondering what they'd come up with to get around giving it to Turkey

Shirley by then everyone will qualify for every tournament using the Gianni Infantino all inclusive equal opportunities distribution of available places to meet available contenders quotient.

Too much sense having it in Germany ... better off having it in Italy/Spain where the building schedule for new stadia could be in doubt with 1 year to go ... Or scare mongering about financial difficulties within the countries economy that they won't be able to complete all they need to .

Need a bit of drama and Germany will just do exactly what it says it will do and there will be absolutely no doubt that all will be ready on time with zero chance of drama

Superb. Germany should host every tournament.

A host of massive stadiums, a relatively compact country, fast, frequent transport connections, plenty of variety in the cities, lots of hotels and a population who love football.

It is the ideal choice for every tournament.

And they are always going to qualify anyway.

Exactly.

If only Hitler had won the war, it wouldn't even be a question. Say what you want about the man, he knew how to move millions of people around a country with extreme efficiency.

The train story is a myth, in fact it is believed that the only train he ever got to run on time was the one taking him to Rome! Fascists are even less efficient these days! At least Adi baby could blame the meth.

More or less the same venues from the 06 WC if I'm not mistaken. Nuremberg not on the list though

Dusseldorf wasn't a 2006 venue but is now.
Kaiserslautern misses out.

So one less venue than 06 with Dusseldorf in and Kasierslauten and Nuremberg out. Surprised Hanover didn't make the cut

Neither are Kaiserslautern and Hanover but Dusseldorf has been added.  It looks like we're going to have 4 of those 10 stadiums located in the North Rhine/Westphalia region alone.
