Yeah I think it will be close. They played a close 5 sets a Wimbledon this year.

Nadal has had a few tough matches and his knee was bandaged up in R3. The conditions are tough and he played for nearly 5 hrs on Wed.

Del Potro has only dropped one set so far and should be a lot fresher. He will need any small advantage he can get as Nadal is an animal.

What’s she supposed to do, stand there and take it?
She was right to go mad.

She called the umpire a thief and then cries like a baby when he penalises her.Giving the game penalty was probably going too far in such a big match. She then behaved like a spoilt child.Ranting and raving after every few points. She made herself the centre of attention completely taking all the attention off her opponent winning her first grand slam. Osaka was totally outplaying her and would have beaten her anyway. It was incredibly unsporting and classless.

The umpire made a bad call regarding the “coaching” but that was his only mistake.

Serena was was out of order and she has prior history of this.
She called the umpire a liar, a cheat and said on TV he would never umpire one of her games again.
That was another violation which was as an automatic game penalty.

Osaka would have won anyway. She only dropped one set all tournament.

Overall a disappointing final.

Reply showed it wasn’t a foot fault.
She was robbed.
When Thierry Henry robbed us in Paris, did we all remain calm and say “ok”?

Osaka was better last night and probably would have won anyway, but at that moment in the match of course you’re going to go mental.

The fans or the players never impugned the integrity of the referee that night.

It’s exceptionally poor form to do that, and football has led the charge in this regard.

Don't watch tennis often, but reading the news reports and watching the footage I can only agree with the umpire. Rules were enforeced. Simple. And to me it seems her reaction was over the top, prima donna style.

crowd very much on Del Potro’s side and Djokovic doesn’t like it at all, smashing player but he’s a very very bad loser.

Would love Del Potro to win it but Djokovic probably be too strong in the end.

Novak 2 sets up. He’ll get No. 14 tonight to tie Pete.

I read an interesting stat today.

Tennis career earnings:
Fed 100m
Novak 100M
Nadal 80M

Sponsorship
Fed 400m
Nadal 200m
Novak 100m

Novak has never been with Nike and earns way less than the others.

Delighted Novak won after serious doubts whether he would ever come back from the long term injury! He has been brilliant all tournament and no one gave him a test at all.

One of the best players of all time Clap
