The grandad told him to go with West Ham even though an Arsenal fan himself. Told us he trains 3 times a week and a match, he was in Belgukm last week and off to Germany this week. All at 10 years old. Then he asked my son was he in an academy. That's what we're up against. He did say though that the kids walk around like they're stars and then many end up in a bad place when they don't make it and the clubs go bringing in the foreigners.
I was only reading about Sonny Pike last week, remember him? His old man destroyed him. Have a look on Google, thankfully he is alright now and a cabbie in south-east London but it is a great warning for parents and kids.

There was money to be made in the France v Faroes game and Ireland v Germany on the under/overs.
I saw elsewhere, after the game, that Germany were 6/5 -1. Crazy odds, if true.

I haven't been able to find any betting for this tournament. Is there a rule that bookies cannot take bets on underage games?

None of the main bookies seem to have anything though.

You're right, I checked the tv guide and all they have is highlights tomorrow evening I saw "live coverage" and assumed the best. Sorry lads. I'll put a link to a stream up if I find one.

I don't think it is even on Eurosport and I'd love to know where I can watch it too.

Surely it will be streamed? If so, Sportzone and Feed4u are the best bets.

If clarification is required that would be my sentiments as a viewer.
And yes I have experienced the odd ass kicking alongside my many glorious personal triumphs in the sphere of junior Donegal sporting contests and I am proud to say that even as a youngster I carried myself with nothing but dignity and stoicism in the aftermath Cool

Final whistle blows, they're all dejected then they get news that they've actually made it through due to the other result - what kind of reaction would you expect from any side at that stage? They'd worked unbelievably hard to get through qualifying and then got robbed against Serbia in the first game but because they were well beaten by Ze Germans they're not allowed celebrate making the quarter finals? Come on

I suppose what you'd expect them to feel is the same as I did - a mixture of humiliation and wry amusement at the mathematical fluke that had just occured.
They were playing mostly diddy little teams in qualifying and the 'elite' round group was even more favourable than our Rugby world cup group draw.
Yes we ought to have had a penalty which we might have scored to earn a draw against Serbia but I wouldn't say we were robbed in that overall they were slightly better than us in the game (our usual possession problems)
So sure we can lose against Germany and still be content to have qualified but there is a certain threshold of unanswered goals conceded - four I'd estimate at maximum - beyond which it is not good etiquette to be celebrating joyously after the final whistle blows.

Still I'd say overall this age group is reasonably promising and there are a handful of individuals that might make useful senior internationals which is what underage tourneys are really about and who knows, maybe we haven't used up all our luck in this tournament yet?

My thoughts exactly!

"wry amusement"
