Rice releases a statement to state that he'll make a statement on the issue soon LOL what a f*cking farce
"I called him an embarrassment to FIFA and to himself," .... He said 'No-one speaks to me like that'.... and I said, "well I do' and that was that."

What a waste of an interview to give, he may as well have said nothing because it doesn't clear anything up at all.
Jimmy Bullard - "Favorite band? Elastic."

“As for now, I want to play at the top level throughout my career. I want to win trophies, even the Champions League. You have to be ambitious. If not, what’s the point?”

Doesn't bode well for little old EIRE

That's the only line of interest that I would take from the interview.
Not good for us him talking about ambition and wanting to win the biggest trophies

That's only a couple of pars buried in an in-depth interview about West Ham.

Exactly. He's gone. At least he's not declaring for the north I suppose. LOL

He's guaranteed world cup and euros qualification with England. He will have a higher profile with them and can command bigger wages. Irrespective of any Irish links/heritage/relations etc etc. It's the better career move, providing he remains good enough to be in the England squad over the next decade or so.

At least we'll be put out of our misery soon Clap

Well, you could argue that its far more ambitious to attempt to win the World Cup with us than with Engerland...

Seriously though, I'm not saying they're going to win world cups, but they've a serious amount of good young players coming through at the minute.

England doing so well in the World Cup in the summer was the worst timing for us.

If he chooses England he has a chance of playing in multiple world cups.

I suppose they have really, but they have been perennial underachievers at international level for a while with better squads than most who have done a lot better than them ( last one been the odd one out which another poster has pointed out is probably really bad timing for us) I was hoping our new management might be able to swing him but realistically thinking a manager who is already under the gun for a short term would not be the ideal scenario in him making his mind up in our favour imo

He says he, his dad and borther spoke to Mick. He says just he spoke to Southgate. That might be telling. Tbh im sick of reading too much into these snipets. I am losing a little hope now but I think in the end he will go with what his family think.

Don’t care anymore. Like him as a player but we have a whole generation of promising players coming through.
You asked if I'd be anyone from history, fact or fiction, dead or alive:
I said "I'd be Tony Cascarino, circa 1995"
