seriously i have mentioned the fact we should of capped him against Moldova...but i got told to calm down ect..we have to realise this is a different game now..his head will be turned by his agent and people around..this will really test him..should of got this guy tied down before as we should of with Grealish..dont get me wrong i believe Rice will want to still play for us..but jaysus it shouldn't have come to this..if Rice does choose England the moral of supporters will be at an all time low

Scott Hogan - the lads everyone was screaming for a cap, then gets injured and barely scores and no one cares as he's now a waste of space, although he scored a few goals again so he should be captain or something here we go againnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn with Rice

We should be dishing out 15 minute cameos to any half decent young player born in the UK against bottom seeds in our groups as a matter of urgency. We need to get smart here given the lack of real talent coming through. We cannot afford to be losing the likes of Grealish, Rice etc.
Fingers crossed he stays but i fear the worst

Give me 11 home grown players over any of those 'wait until I can't get capped by England' type players any day of the week. Surely it would be more of an incentive to play LOI players then these 25+ year old journeymen players. Absolutely scraping the barrel. I've no issue with a player born outside of Ireland whose fully committed and comes on board. It's like starting outside the jax in some cesspit nightclub at 2:45am waiting on some large portion to come out and getting stuck in, and justifying it by saying 'any holes a goal. Young premiership regular whose only link to Ireland is his Grandparents. Honestly not sure this will have a happy ending. Does it really matter he played with us under age if England are sniffing?
Loads of knees up brown singing Essex mutants at the taxpayers arena in his ear every week along with no doubt a greedy jumped up agent could well sway him back to England. No idea what the kid is like as a person or how Irish he feels. Time will tell |

Look at Wales with Ampadu, Woodburn and Wilson for example. Bring them in early, cap them and secure them for the future. Any international setup containing people with half a brain would be doing this anyway. Edited by grannyrule - 26 Jan 2018 at 5:26pm |

Players like Grealish are two a penny at the highest level though, his start in the PL was similar to McClean who soon got sussed out and had to adapt his game. Grealish has a lot of technical ability for sure, but his all round game for me anyway will be never good enough to be a mainstay in the England squad. |

Think his dad is Irish born but moved to England at a very young age. I dont think we've anything to worry about here, hes a intelligent lad and comes across well in any interviews ive seen like below. Seems very committed, not many would go as far to learn the national anthem!

I think it should also be noted before people start panicking and flinging their sh*te around when Rice is not named in the upcoming squad, that young Declan is currently injured.

"Although a calf strain kept Rice out of Saturday's FA Cup defeat to Wigan Athletic, he should return for tonight's Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace, hoping to make his 20th appearance of the season." |
