There seems to be this attitude that you cant play a good young player too much in the off chance he has a bad game and it will somehow effect his development.

Connolly substituted for the second half, in part tactical as mooy was sent off I imagine

He was as poor as anyone in Switzerland the other night I thought

Ok he’s a young player and we aren’t going to criticise him but I’ve read some sh*te since and during the game just because he is young
Kilbane had a point

Was lively, should have probably scored 1 of his 2 chances.

First ball fell to him in the box from a failed clearance and he ballooned it over from close range but he wasn't expecting it at all and had to throw something at it.

Second was a 1v1 on the keeper and he took his shot early trying get it over the keeper but he made himself big and saved it.. had loads of time to take it around him and tap it in. Something he'll learn from watching it back.

Dont know what Kilbane was on about for him being at fault for the goal because he lost the ball in the oppositions half and there were 9 other player behind him who done f**k all to stop the counter. Particularly the defense, they were poor letting Grealish through to tap it home.

Was sacrificed at HT with the Mooy sending off.

That'll be him resorted to a sub player for Brighton, inevitably ending up in the championship or league 1

It was totally tactical. A player like him who doesn't offer much to defence is the obvious player to take out. Brighton were totally dominating the game until then and he was giving the Villa defence a really awkward time and was as likely as anyone to score. I think he is a banker to start a lot of games now

Was just looking at the Brighton forum and most have excluded Connolly in their preferred XI.

Football fans are so fickle

Over injuries and suspensions. Mooy sent off so they are struggling on that side this week. He wont be a brighton player long anyway  so their fickleness will go the other way come the summer.

connolly starts. Up against Holgate and Keane, I can see him doing some damage
You asked if I'd be anyone from history, fact or fiction, dead or alive:
I said "I'd be Tony Cascarino, circa 1995"
