If you can find one quote from any one of the managers above that had anything bad to say about Connolly post it up or shut the f**k up spreading lies [/QUOTE] Ah Artie, his manager's are never going to come out and speak out/criticise a him to the press regarding any off the field or personal issues. At Brighton alone, he broke Covid rules and risked carrying it into the secure bubble of the team to buck some young one. Been filmed twice starting fights in clubs around Brighton. Spat his dummy out in training and was dropped from the match day squad as a result. While supposedly injured, instead of travelling with the squad to an away game or focusing on getting back to fitness, was caught on Instagram parting at some festival with his ex. Now these are just a few instances while at Brighton alone and there are plenty more. It's clear as day the fella doesn't seem to have the professionalism or maturity that's needed to be playing at this level. That's not to say that can't change and I would like to see him turn it around. |

Imagine a parallel universe where Aaron Connolly read this forum and saw all the posts where people say he is a waster, and say he will never make it. And then he decides to go ahead and prove these people right.
I hope he figures this out and turns things around. He was good enough for the 21s to give me that little bit of hope. Not quite sure who takes him on now. A Championship club willing to invest time could pick him up on a free and rebuild him but he'll need to engage and be well advised.

He'll be lucky to get a League One or Scottish Premiership move being realistic. Talk of getting a Championship move is daft. He looked out of his depth at Middlesbrough and Venezia. Continues to prioritise his lifestyle off the pitch. You might get away with the lack of professionalism and dedication in the nineties but not now. He has potential - though at the age of almost 23 it's a little late in the day to be relying on potential - but there are loads of players more talented than him, cheaper than him, and who come with less baggage than him who will be headhunted long before he is by the weaker clubs like Huddersfield. Swansea! wouldn't touch him from everything I know about Russell Martin.

Swansea took on Obafemi when he looked in similar danger of wasting his career and seem to have put that right for him. If he gets a move to Burnley or another better club in January, who knows, they might fancy taking a punt on Connolly.

This is why I think Swansea would possibly show some interest in him. Championship clubs are shopping in the bargain basement for players and even someone with the recent record of Aaron Connolly will have some clubs still looking at him. Bang average managers float around these leagues going from club to club. His recent loan in Italy doesn't mean he'll be lucky to get a league one club as some have said ffs If Brighton don't budge on a certain percentage of his wages being paid yeah he'll struggle for a club. But they might as well cover all his wages than have him doing nothing at Brighton. |

He’d definitely suit Swanseas business model anyway.

That's not to say that can't change and I would like to see him turn it around. That's probably no more or less with a lot of other players do. Going out from time to time isn't a sackable offence. Look at Obafemi, his two Southampton managers both publicly criticised him several times for his attitude. That's not the case with Connolly. He never misses training and he works hard in training. Connolly can't take his chances just like Shane Long and he gets injured a lot unlike Shane Long did. Long also had a terrific attitude that even when things were going poorly he still gave his all on the pitch. Very few players can do that. Connolly is no exception to this. Just because he likes sh*t tattoos and is a twit on Instagram doesn't warrant the constant abuse he gets. |

Shane Long was a far, far better player than Connolly. There is no comparison.

Sorry for the misinterpretation of what I wrote. Long missed loads of easy chances if he could've scored more he'd have been an excellent striker. Connolly misses lots of chances too, if he could score more he could be a decent Championship player. Although that's assuming he can stay injury free. And that's the real reason Connolly's career is going nowhere. It's not because of what he does in training or his personal life. |
