I hope he does realise HE is the problem. As long as there is one iota of him that is playing the victim, and has a "why me?" mentality, then he may as well throw in the towel.

To go from a position where he was near certain of a new contract under a manager who specifically wanted him and had worked with him in the past, to not getting a contract and that manager barely giving him a minute of game time in over 2 months - I mean what do you even say to that.

Same old story. There's always something with him.

A bit harsh no?

With Connolly, it has generally been a case of one step forward and 2 steps back over and over again. However, I think this season was more of 1 step forward, 1 step back Smile. Before he was ploughed out of it he was generally looking very good.

If he can have a season where he keeps fit then he can do a lot of damage at that level

He never got a new deal with them. He's been mostly sitting on the bench as they've barely won a game in nearly 2 months to finish off their playoff hopes. The signings of Carvalho and Zaroury (and Sharp to a lesser extent) have clearly impacted his minutes too despite some genius adamantly declaring on the last page that Carvalho would have no impact on him  ?!?!?

The Norwich incident was in Jan and he was deemed fit enough to come off the bench on Feb 10th but his Jan injury is still an excuse for lack of game mins now? Obvious nonsense.

I'd be very surprised if he is offered a new contract from here. Another false start.

Rosenior was talking about his strikers during the last international window as they played a friendly and said this about Connolly.

On Aaron Connolly....

"That's him (he's looked frustrated in training). He wants to be successful now. The injury that he had against Norwich was horrific. Yes, his shoulder was damaged, but actually, he had a long concussion for 10 days to two weeks. That sets anyone back, that's a really, really difficult injury to overcome.

"We've had to give him time, we've had to give him time to build himself up and you can see he needed the game minutes (against Curacao). I can't put him in games when we're fighting for the play-offs and hope that he's going to be OK.

"I need players that I can rely on, not through any fault of Aarons. It's an injury that set him back, but I can't just throw him in. I can't throw players in, in the position we're in at this stage of the season, I need to know when they come in they can do the job physically, tactically and do the job they're asked to for the team.

"Mentally, I think he's in a better place. I think he's someone who wants success now and if the success doesn't happen, he gets really down on himself because he knows what a good player he can be. He's a massive part of the group, he's really popular with the players. He's a great kid off the pitch, but on the pitch, he shows his emotion, and that's the type of person he is. I don't want him to change because that's the type of lad that he is. He does, he needs to get fitter, and that game would have helped him."

Barely getting a look in at all over the last few months since returning from the concussion and shoulder injury Angus Gunn gave him. A few weeks ago he went on Twitter to deny someone's claims that he's constantly on the piss.

Pity James Furlong didn't move to Legia Warsaw as well. They wanted him a lot more than Hull and he could've seen a good bit of European football with them in the ECL.

Hull also did ok in those games. I am sure he is only partially fit so will be introduced slowly but surely.

Yeah there's been other games where he didn't come off the bench and Rosenior has said afterwards he wasn't fit enough to come on.

It's a shame that fitness is going to plague his career forever as Rosenior was starting to get something out of Connolly.

Not having a go at him but he's been partially fit for about 5yrs now.

The concussion and should injury from that challenge  few weeks ago was hardly his fault though! His long term / reoccurring injury is usually foot/ankle related.

Hes on the bench as an impact sub at the moment, they've won their last 3 games 2-1. You dont need to bring on a striker when trying to hold onto a lead.

The one game he was brought on for final 20 minutes was where they were losing and chasing the game 1-0.

Hes still their top scorer with 8 goals this season, I'm sure they'd love him fit and available to start every game and so would we.

Back to the LOI with him. 30 goals a season at Rovers.

He would probably be a Ballon D'Or nominee in the LOI

Looking at 3 to 6 weeks out.

“It's a minimum of three weeks (out). I can only laugh at the moment, that’s the only way I can deal with negative news,” said Hull City boss Liam Rosenior, after Connolly left the field last week following a shuddering collision with Canaries ‘keeper Angus Gunn early in the first-half.

“He is looking at between three and six weeks (out). Hopefully it's more on the three side. We have had his shoulder assessed and he’ll need more assessment in three weeks.

“I did the same injury in my shoulder. It’s his AC joint, he has twinged the ligament and that can be a really, really painful one. So we have to make sure he gets his rehab right, on top of the fact that he is still showing real symptoms of concussion as well.”

That's an outrageous decision by the ref. Completely poleaxed Connolly.
Any chance that can be looked again?
