I still find it mad that Thomas O'Connor is down there for another season. Having score 5 in 18 from midfield. He turned 23 in the National League and will turn 24 there too.

Wrexham are a League 1 team in terms of budget but are playing two divisions lower than that. They will have offered decent money to a lad who wasn't getting much game time at Oxford.

That's disappointing, I thought he had signed a contract extension this summer.

Ya it will be also interesting to see what happens to Conor Coventry as well at West Ham too. He played a lot of pre-season minutes for them. I hope he pushes for another loan and makes another try at Championship level. I don't think he will get much game time with Rice, Soucek or Downes who they spent £10 millon a few weeks ago, all there a head of him, unless there is an injury crisis. I can see Moyes promising him minutes as a squad player and I hope he doesn't settle for that as he could do with getting regular game time to kick on at his age. He is 22yo now and he hasn't made 50 senior appearances in his career yet.

Yeah, I'd be hopeful for a decent season from Odubeko.
Got that first loan under his belt, which can be a big challenge. Be shocked if he's not loaned soon. Okoflex is highly rated but an unknown prospect. Another young forward still at his parent club is Kavanagh at 'Boro. Had a stint in L2 last year so will hopefully get another run of it this season. |

I'd say they'll both go out on loan because they're forwards so there will be demand for them, especially Odubeko who actually finished last season well, I think he could be a good loan signing for a League 1 team. But there's four or five weeks left in the transfer window, some of these less in demand lads might not move until the deadline day.

Just catching up with the xfers and struck me that we've heard nothing about the two young lads at West Ham - Odubeko and Okoflex.
Odubeko had a loan already to L1 last season so would expect similar again (unless there was Championship interest...I doubt it). Okoflex has never played men's football as far as I can tell, or no meaningful amount. Filled a spot on the bench in some games last season without ever seeming likely to get a run out. Anyway, just a thought as the EFL (I know there are other leagues but a move elsewhere would seem far less likely) kicks off on the weekend, so if they were sorting loans, you'd want them to get a move on as pre-season is over. EDIT - note also that WH just signed an Italian striker for 30mil, so neither of these two young lads will be getting a sniff of first-team action there this season.

Let's just hope they don't ask the Peterborough manager for a reference.

Stoke games will be interesting if Kilkenny and Smallbone are playing regularly. Either of them might be a surprise call ups for November if impressing in the championship.
Sure they might as well put an offer in for Coventry now and have the U21s midfield trio there. |
