Horgan scored and had a great game against Wycombe in the cup for Preston a couple of years ago. I wonder if they're signing him largely on the basis of that? They still have the same manager - must be one of the longest-serving managers in British football (there since 2012).

I heard he tried FaceTime but all 18 stone of him wouldn’t fit on the camera. I love Akinfenwa but would I encourage a player to join a team where their tactic involves launching the ball at a 38 year old brute for 90 minutes, absolutely not

I still stand by the fact he’s more than good enough to be playing for a good number of Championship clubs although I wouldn’t remotely mind seeing him play League 1 football if it guaranteed him a full season of regular games

Hold up for some reason I thought ye were on about Luca Connell?? Daryl Horgan yeah if he can seal a Championshop move then fairplay to him but really he is probably a League 1 player. As for me I clearly need to f**k off to bed on that note 👀👀😂😂😂 apologies for the brain fart/mix up.

glad to see him in the championship at least. had a pretty solid season his first year at hibs, think he is definitely a championship level player, hopefully he at least gets a lot of football with wycombe

Horgan can play. Much better having him the championship. Good signing for Wycombe

He was in and out of the team and rarely lasted the full 90. Was one of their highest paid players as Lennon paid over the odds to bring him in a few years ago, so they decided to let him go when they got an offer.
One of those players that didn't do too badly for the team but can be easily and more cheaply replaced.

Safe to say that he can be entirely forgotten about in regards to the national team.

Hardly, we aren't exactly in a position to ignore someone playing in the Championship if they are playing well there.

Nah, he's done with the Ireland senior team, decent lad and a decent footballer too, but a level short of what we need and seem to be bringing through.

They ain't based in High Wycombe for nowt. It's long, skyborn, balls up to Akinfenwa and go from there.
Not the best preparation for Kenny's Ireland, I'd dare to suggest.

He is only around six foot and can't jump. When they were in League Two they were more of a dirty and scrappy team than a long-ball. They aren't pretty, that's for sure, but they have massively overachieved and certainly don't just boot it in the air.

Maybe I've done them a disservice. I love Akinfenwa; he used to play for my favourite English team, Northampton, and was great for us. I always support the underdog, and If Wycombe stay up I wouldn't be disappointed in the slightest.

He is a very astute forward. I went at Wycombe a few seasons back when both sides had a hope of making the playoffs on the last day and he was brilliant. Had two defenders hanging off him all day and bought free-kicks and brought others into his game. Given his fitness there's probably a few years left in him too. Ainsworth certainly gets the best out of him. I would love to see them stay up though. As much as the locals here moan about them, they are as close to the John Beck era Cambridge United as you can get modern football. I can't share your enthusiasm for Northampton though! Been there three times and although I have seen two last minute equalisers I have also seen my mate getting arrested for jumping on the pitch after one of those(he's 53!) and the other time, last November, was the coldest and wettest I have been at a match. I thought the point of these modern flatpack stadia was to keep fans from getting soaked! Horrible place. Spent a fortnight in Northampton in 2010 to watch the World Cup with a mate, it is a bit of a nothing town.
