It would'nt be the first nor it won't be the last thing to be written incorrectly on this or any other forum........
anyway where were we ? oh yeah, as much as we all find it strange that any LOI club would look for a dig out, i suppose a desperate situation required a desperate solution...Youths had already lost half a team to NZ and possibly had others injured...2 matches to survive !!!!

An amatuer club acting like an amateur club, Who would have thought it! What did you want them to do, pay players money they didn't have to make sure they were tied down all season and prob not last the season (i.e Monaghan) Since you know everything and are always right, What would your solution have been when the players left them to go to New Zeland |

The way I saw it, I thought Wexford were a welcome addition to the PD season just gone. They helped the geographical spread of the league and with Waterford so far from contention in Div 1, at least the Youths represented the South East.
But with Limerick and Drogheda Utd replacing Longford and Wexford in the season ahead, is this not the strongest 12-team league we`ve had in years? Limerick have broken all records in being promoted from Div 1 and the Drogs under Pete Mahon/John Gill, (is Mark Kinsella still involved?), certainly won`t be making up the numbers. I could be wrong but I can see the 2017 season being very competitive.

Just because you don't pay players does not mean you don't run yourself properly. Allowing a limited player to dictate terms at a critical time is a recipe for disaster, and disaster is what happened. There is no way you would be accepting of this if it happened at Dundalk.

They never allowed a player dictate terms. They asked Chin could he help out for a few games and he said he would once it didn't clash with any GAA activities and Wexford agreed! It wouldn't happen Dundalk because we're not an amateur club, Wexford are! Again il ask (which you will ignore) what were Wexford meant to do after 5 players left to go to New Zeland? |

Even by your standards this is space cadet stuff
In your own time... As for what they were to do when a batch of players emigrated, do what the rest of the footballing world does, try not to let them by reminding them of their contracts and replace them with reserve or young players if they insist on going. Allowing players to wander in for a bit and then ditch them to go on the lash demeans everything. Imagine being a 19 year old there and seeing this happen?

Wexford ask a player could he help them out as they are stuck. Player responds I'd love too once it dosnt clash with GAA games/events il be available. Dave McMillan misses one day a week training at Dundalk as he works part time, Has he dictated to Dundalk when he would be available or would you call it compromise? The players that went to New Zeland were not under contract so had no obligation to stay, why can't you get your head around that? |

They are terms ffs. The issue here is they accepted the events bit. Of course they Kiwis were under contract. You are asking why Youths let 5 players out of their contracts and registrations in October to play overseas? I have no idea, ask them. More amateur hour would be my guess. All they had to do was say we aren't signing any international release for a month.

3 of the 5 tat went to NZ where already not getting a game the other 2 only got the odd run out. When Chin cane in it put them further down pecking order. Furlong walk away around this time but went back for last few game's. It was going around there was disharmony in dressing room when chin was brought in,these lads were only getting expenses at next.
As for Keegan's Galway episode word was out weeks before that they were interested in him. His interview on soccer republic after playoff said it all. |
