Poor form by all involved.  Give the fans and team a week or two to enjoy the cup win before announcing it.

O'Donnell's certainly left a sour taste in the mouths of fans

I suppose vinny will be in the running now for pats    at this stage nobody should be surprised  players or managers   changing  clubs  every year the same  at least Stephen got you a cup but agree could have left it a week or two  because   its hardly unplanned that he was going .

I'd have agreed here, till the truth about him stitching pats up or at least tried to come out. Shows him for what he is.

A risky move especially if it goes wrong up there. It's a small league. Hope he fails miserably and never gets another job in football. He did a brilliant job here all the same

it’s a real shame for kelleher and st pats this, they showed him a lot of faith and get kicked in the nuts a couple of days after a final win. The man has a right to work for whoever wants him but it looks a sneaky move.shades of roddy dumping on Dublin City by crawling off to shams.

He can't work for who he likes when he's contracted to a direct rival though, which is why he's not been announced yet. Pats need paying but dundalk don't think they do

Clancy is a very good manager and I hope he does really well at the junkies, but I can’t help feeling that he made the move to the wrong club.

He has aspirations to manage in the uk and pats can be a funny aul club and if it doesn’t go to plan there....

Hope it works out for him and would love him to go on to bigger and better things
"Not surprised you are anti foreigner in your so called Kip of a town when you don’t want a manager because he is Swedish and you want big Sam in charge" - a fine post from a fine ybig poster

What other club was there for him? Not sure what you mean regarding funny Club when things dont go to plan, if anything were sometimes too loyal to managers, under Garrett Kelleher we sacked 2 managers in their 1st season and both were getting us relegated, stevie nearly relegated us last season but we stuck by him, Liam Buckleys time was up about 3 years before he was sacked, Johnny Mac walked after finishing 2nd 2 years running with the biggest budget the club has ever had with no trophy, probably should have been sacked. Harry Kenny and Jeff Kenna were the ones sacked, in Jeff's season we stayed up on the final day after an upturn in results once he was sacked and Harry was just a bad appointment, didn't play the right football and didn't get results, could probably suggest he deserved more time but we were dire to watch and the final straw was getting hammered by ucd the week after they lost 10 nil to bohs I think. All justified imo. Clancy will get time once it's not horribly bad
