Can't say I remember him playing for the junkies.

He played in 2007/2008 was sacked for being over weight, won his case in court and got paid a huge figure

Came back from tanland to sign for the junkies on absolutely massive wages, may have been the highest paid player ever in the league, if not was certainly up there.

Fair Play on finding the article.

Puppy-fatted Irish Sports Journalist Daniel McDonnell being derogatory about Irish Football.  "Big things" = Career in England, "Alas" (regret) = return to Irish Football.

Now if an FAI Official said that.

Daniel Mc is one of the best football journalists in this country, a huge fan of the LOI and not afraid of the FAI either.

Lots of Rumours of Forrester signing back to pats and have heard it will be announced in the morning. While it would be some signing for ye and great to have him back in the league, I'll be sickened to see him back in Ireland, truly believe he can play at a much higher level than league 1 even.

Kevin Toner the former Villa defender is today’s announcement.
Has been rumours about Forrester the last 6 months, but don’t think they are anything more... yet

Pats had no crowds and no sponsor last year but seem to be building a decent squad this season. If the money ever dried up they'd surely be in big trouble.

Seems to be a bit more effort going in this pre season. The signings are good so far. There's a new website and the social media has been decent for the last year or so. There's still loads more that can be done on the marketing front to improve but I think there's more energy about the club and things are looking up.

Great to hear, Pat's have been accused of laziness recently so glad to hear this to be changing.

In fairness the only way was up. Things had been getting progressively worse for a good while. Crowds are still low and there's defo more work to be done and plenty more improvements to be made but I have more of a sense of optimism.

In theory, it should be an easy sell to get fans in. It's a tidy little ground near the city with loads of decent boozers nearby. Saints play good football too.

We could defo take a leaf out of Bohs book in terms of marketing IMO

They have a price and won't go below it,many other clubs do. Rightly or wrongly that's how it.

They've announced back of short sponsor for next season yesterday
