What's wrong with it ? Plenty of Good Pubs commuter town for plenty of people I know who couldn't afford to buy in Dublin.

Did you ever notice the bigger the kip, the better the cafe they have? 2 cracking spots for breakfast in Finglas and Ashbourne.

Thought Newry was grand myself. Though I didn't venture into the older parts.
Some seriously fit women there.

Ah it's actually improving a bit lately. Some decent bars, The Bridge bar is actually a great wee spot now for a few pints. But as CM pointed out, along the quays across from the bus center needs something done badly.

Yeah, it definitely could do with a proper park though God knows when (or even if) this proposed park at Albert Basin will become a reality. And at least it is relatively handy for Belfast and Dublin with good motorways and regular public transport links). I'd hate to live in some out-of-the-way kip several hours from either of those cities on crap roads or public transport links. I don't even bother with the pubs for boozing tbh (I don't drink anyway) but the Windmill Bar is my nearest one. I would usually just go to one of the town centre pubs for a meal with my family but I would say that we wouldn't be in any rush to near the Canal Court again (average quality food and overpriced).

I'll second that, horrible place, people in it are the rudest most ignorant as well. I was working there on and off a few years back. Couldn't wait to finish that contract.

You never left Dublin City cause you get a nosebleed once you step outside the city limits and the fear that you won't be near your heroin dealer.

Dundalk is by far the biggest kip in Ireland. Have to go up there this morning for my booster - I’m hoping they’ll give me an extra jab of something to protect me after going up there.
I used love Dublin City. Lived there for 2 years and went to college and worked there for about 15 years. Even though I’m from drogheda, I did a lot of socialising there over those 15 years, after work, etc. Don’t work there anymore but had to go up for a day a few months ago. Was like the walking dead, mutants all over the place. Without so many workers and tourists, it actually looked like a right kip with all the junkies, etc. They’d want to do something pronto with it before it gets too bad. It’s a shame to see

I wouldn’t say everywhere looks like a kip - but I certainly realise how lucky I am coming from the cosmopolitan town of the northeast after I go elsewhere

I've just moved to Drogheda and I'm working in Dundalk, kept hearing how bad both places are. To be honest I think I slightly prefer Dundalk, it has some better pubs but neither is as bad as I had heard. Neither myself or my girlfriend are from Louth but reckon the people here are much nicer and friendlier than those from Cork and Galway where we lived prior to this.
The worst town in Ireland is Rathkeale, used to be a great town before a certain minority ruined it.
