We've won the last two away 3-0. I suspect tomorrow will be a far greater challenge and I'd be pleasantly surprised if we are in a luxurious position by the hour-mark, but that's a good plan to have and if not, we can implement a different plan Every chance of a tough 0-0 well into the 2nd half at which point we will be looking to change up the lineup anyway.

Luxemburg saw a Bazunu wonder save to keep the score level and a couple of very close calls before Ireland finally scored with 20 mins to go. Azerbijan saw Robinson hit a couple of screamers to set us up. Hopef for something similar against Armenia but the only plan should be to put the strongest team out and expect a v tough game. The other matches will take care of themselves, get the first nations league win on the board for the team.

Listen I get not being too complacent, but you just have to look at armenia's record over the last year and it's shocking for a reason... They're shocking.
There is the problem of giving weaker teams far too much respect. Something Irish teams have suffered with for years. And also suffer the consequences of giving too much respect. Armenia have absolutely pissed in goals the last few games. They should be put to the sword by the better team. Maybe not 9 nil but it should be a comfortable victory.

Don't think it will be that comfortable and they will be going all out to get a result themselves like Azerbaijan did at home. Throw in the heat and lads can tire easily.
It's why I'd hope for a couple of early goals like Azerbaijan to get fresh legs on early enough in the second half and try to get Cullen and Knight off before they run themselves into the ground and are knackered by the third game. |

Unbelievable engine! Couldn’t believe he was still closing their defence down 85mins in.

He was excellent. The amount of 2nd balls he picked up and gaps he closed, especially in the 2nd half, was brilliant.

The fulcrum. And gave Ukraine a torrid time going backwards too. Lovely player. Premiership clubs should be taking note. He could be very effective at that level.

Kenny said after the game that was his 60th game of the season for club and country combined. I checked, it was his 61st. In minutes played for club and country this season he ranks 9th in the World. NINTH! Hes played more minutes than any Liverpool player has this season, a club that reached 3 finals. You heard plenty saying how tired Salah and Mane looked towards the end of the season and even more lat week about Robertson for Scotland. Then you've Cullen still pressing in the 88th minute of his 4th game in 10 day at the end of the season. He has some engine on him

Main thing is he didn't pick up a yellow and will be available for Scotland away bar injury. Himself, Knight, and Molumby have looked good in midfield and will surely be our starting midfield come September if all available.

John Egan not far behind him in 16th and had he played today it would have put him level on minutes played with Cullen if he played the full 90. |
