I met him in a bar in Ibaraki,he was wearing a Ireland jersey and was with Jeff Stelling and Chris Kamara. The 3 of them were a good crack and we'll able to down the pints. When I was talking to him he had a Dublin accent, strange when I saw him on the telly speaking with a English one.

Not only that but Willie served with the US Navy in WWII while his half brother (the father had another sprog when he legged it back to Germany) served in the Wehrmacht and ultimately died on the Eastern Front. Its amazing the rabbit holes you end going down when browsing wiki on a Saturday night.

Either Colin Healy's dad or grandad was known as Hitler Health and I believe responded to the name. My memory isn't exact, but he was either a referee or was on the disciplinary panel of the AUL and was in favour of rules. The traffic warden in Clonakilty was known to all as mini Hitler, it was due to his short stature and moustache while also being ironic as he was actually a lovely man. There is a politician in India whose given names are Adolf Hitler and he proudly goes by them. In a sort of living proof of the fishhook theory I believe he is a liberal. I think I mentioned the Irish link to Adolf on here before as I was surprised when I came across it. I believe anyone with the Hitler surname afterwards was encouraged to take the name of their partner when marrying, for obvious reasons, meaning the last surviving Hitlers held Irish passports; if that is the case it would be interesting to find out. It would still be less embarrassing than Otto Skorenzy!
