I was chatting to a lad and he says to me that he believes that Facebook listens in on conversations ... now I thought this lad was a bit odd saying it . He noticed adverts pop up on his Facebook page of things he chatted about.  Today I was in the car chatting the missus about pvc  (exciting stuff) Later on my fb page an advert for pvc popped up . Then later tonight my phone was on the table and had family arounf and we were talking about hospitals.  Later again I went on to fb and advert for the Mater pops up... Any one else ? Not worth a thread of its own but it' f**kjng mad

Far from paranoid .. just ironic that the stuff we chatted about came up . I was stopped off on the side of a road the other day making calls and the news came on and Suckerburg was in court over the Cambridge scandal and the court asked did they use software to listen in and he says no but if he did say yes I wouldn't have been surprised at all

Not sure about Facebook but it's the apps on your phone, some of then have agreements which you'll agree to, where they'll record or pick out words in conversation, so they must then have a deal with Facebook to advertise that to you.

I've only started eating peanut butter on rice crackers as a snack the last week or so, and only the other day an ad for peanut butter popped up on my instagram
