I think I read about David Ervine warning people to that effect.

What would be their motivation for it when the troubles were finally dying down?

While we're talking about state agents, the Sean Brown news is making my blood boil.

In the infamous clip where Greysteel Massacre killers Torrens Knight, Stephen Irwin and Geoffrey Deeney are being led in to court in front of a baying crowd, getaway driver Knight taunts the crowd with shouts of "What about Kelly?", and "Up the UFF!" They all agreed beforehand to taunt the crowd but Irwin and Deeney got cold feet leaving Knight with his arse hanging in the wind.

People used to wipe their arses with dried corn cobs in the days of the outhouse, hence the word "cornhole".
