Not an exaggeration to say he changed our nation. Gutted to hear hear this news.
His first game in charge is the first Ireland game I can properly remember. The passion for the national team comes from those times. As was said, we'll never see his like again.

Very sad to hear the news. An absolute legend and never forgotten for what he has done for Ireland. Its a shame as I am sure a lot of Irish would have gone to the funeral. He deserved that. RIP Jack.

A legend. An icon.
I'll always remember being in the Aviva for the England game when he was presented the crowd. Can't recall a better reaction to anyone in the stadium. 10 mins of just pure adoration. Sleep well Jack

I know it may be a while before we are all back inside watching Ireland play but maybe we can organise something for when that happens as a tribute

Sad news. Jack Charlton brought the good times to Irish football. At a stretch, you could even say he kick started the Celtic Tiger boom. I'd certainly credit him more than Fianna Fail... Rest in peace, Big Jack

Jack dragged us up out of the doldrums from a time when we considered a 4-2 loss at Dalymount Park to be a good result.....
RIP Big Man.....
