The dutch have a lot of work to do in that group. Lads any time i see them play there solid and positive going forward. Always seem solid though in midfield. I never see them dominated. As a whole we have the better squad but there playing a better brand than us. O'Neill has done a great job there.

4 wins out of 4 is a fantastic achievement.

Looking at their fixtures, it looks in their favour as they only have 1 double header and that is the last 2 games against Holland and Germany.
They've a very good chance at nicking that second spot.

Would be some achievement if they pipped the dutch. Im assuming germany will top the group.

There isn't a hope they will get second. The Dutch will get a minimum of 16 points from 18.

Yeah, I mean they only finished ahead of France and Germany in their Nations League group. They’re both sh*te. The North are way better than those jokers.

There's no guarantee the Dutch will take the 12 points against Estonia and Belarus.

N.I. will be a tough nut to crack. They're well drilled and don't panic when the game is going against them. They've had a lot of late goals in vital qualifiers under MON.

If the Dutch don't get those 12 points then they'll need to take at least 4 of N.I.
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

Of course not, but all reasonable logic suggests that is by far the most likely course of events.

Handy way to get your confidence up for a group campaign playing the two worst teams twice each to get started. Clever bastards.

They've done well. They've beaten everyone in front of them so far, top the group and you can't take that away from them.

However they laboured to beat Estonia, who Germany beat 8-0, and Belarus, who Holland beat 4-0.

Even if the Germans beat the Dutch again and the Nordies draw both against the Dutch, or even lose one and win one, the Dutch will have them on goal difference.

Unfortunately one miracle wouldn't be enough. They're not getting top two.

A Germany win at home to the Dutch keeps Northern Ireland in contention until November.  One result then albeit a huge one is required to beat the Dutch in Belfast.  That would leave Germany requiring to avoid a win to stop the Dutch qualifying directly when Northern Ireland visit Frankfurt.  Wink

However all logic still says NI will end up 3rd.

It should be a cracker when the Germans visit Belfast in September.
