Frustrating game. The first 35 we were much the better side. The game changed on the first goal, which was a joke of a decision. Going in 0-0 at half time is a different proposition. The officials were objectively awful.

Saying that, Greene misses a sitter after 2 minutes. You can't do that against better teams and expect to win.

There are a few players in the squad who have been great servants, and are effective at LOI level, but will need to replaced if Rovers want to kick on again in Europe over the next few years - Hoare, Cleary, Greene, Manus (just because of his age), Finn

Decent effort by the Hoops, played well. Molde played well too. Match officials were atrocious. The first goal totally changed the flow of the game. I cannot understand how the lino didn't see the lad offside, not even close. On to drawda on Sunday and pick up the 3 points.

You got to be taking your chances, and Rovers had plenty. The amount of shots that went well over the bar was unforgivable.

I think Finn has been one of the better players in Europe. Always thought he could have played at a slightly higher level. Great athlete.

Frustrating, that. Had the chances but didn't take them. At that level you get punished.

A bit like Manus he's pushing on in years. Not a criticism against him, he's a fully blown Rovers and LOI legend.

Greene isn't good enough to the main striker in the league, never mind looking to win games in European group stages. Works hard and can be a bit of a nuisance but is rarely a goal threat.

Rovers were shafted with the 1st goal, that's as blatant an offside as you'll see. They had enough chances to win the game but finishing was poor.

Great half of football, Rovers deservedly in the lead, although the second goal should totally have been disallowed

Cleary and Lopes both should have yellows for persistent clear fouls but watching it with no sound on the phone.

What was the issue with the second goal?
Wings? They're only the band The Beatles could have been.

What was the issue with the second goal?

Burke pushed Forrester in the back as he was jumping to head it clear. Should have been a free out.

O'Reilly lucky not to get a red. Thankfully Andy Lyona jumped out of the way in time

Yah if he made contact it would definitely have been a red. Way too dangerous.

Only seen the replay once and would need to watch it again but in fairness it didn't look that much of a push and Forrester was probably expecting the foul to be given. Would need to see it again mind without the Guinness glasses Wink

Taking into consideration two of ours did not turn up that was a good win V a decent Pats side . Christ if we had a 23 year old Gaffney we could build unstoppable teams around him he really is that good. Cleary is good and will give us a few goals and Richie is ""at last""putting in a shify now. Champions again in a not great league this season and SB has some difficult decisions to make for next season . WE are carrying one or two lads when we play them and we are not THAT good . Putting one over Pats is nice tho .

Rovers are in a very dominant position now and worthy champions.

The strength of the bench is different. I wouldn't put Forrester in that side for example.

We were missing a few players, missed grivosti at centre half particularly. Very frustrating game from our perspective. We were well beaten in the end, but the ref calls in the first half were infuriating. How many tackles from behind with no bookings? The push for the second goal. The delay for the penalty with towell at the centre of things as usual.

Our season is a 6.5/10, possibly 7 if we finish third. There was a lot of turnover

We won't be able to replace adam O'Reilly.

The South Stand is sold out for our game V Derry City tomorrow week. Tickets for the Main and East Stands are going fast - get in or get disappointed men. To think we wont see Andy Lyons giving it his all in Tallaght is hard to take but like his old Rovers mate Danny Mandriou thats the way it goes - if your good you go . Thanks for your time at the club Andy - you wont be forgotten KOH  Thumbs Up .
