Tim Davie, prominent Conservative Party activist, appointed Director General of the BBC at the start of this month. Immediately mouthing off about left wing comedians being too much indulged on TV. I suppose those were the ones who delivered the General Election for Corbyn. Beyond satire. Where are Bernard Manning and Jim Davidson when you need them.

I suppose the problem with "right wing comedy" is that i) good comedy requires a brain and ii) it's really hard to have "comedy" with a right wing slant without it being hate speech I suppose it's possible to have right wing "comedy" that isn't hate speech but the problem with that is that it's never funny, and comedy is supposed to be funny, and if "comedy" isn't funny, it loses its reason for existence

SNP MP Margaret Ferrier travelled 400 miles to Westminster by train despite displaying Covid symptoms that worried her to the extent that she took a test, and then, knowing her test was positive, made the 400-mile return journey. This after having previously demanded Cummings's resignation for a greatly lesser offence.
What a ****. The only saving grace is that the nasty, hypocritical f**ker probably took first class there and back, so hopefully only other rich ****s have been affected.

She surely has to resign. What she did was far, far worse than Cummings. Surely she can't brazen it out? The SNP have basically disowned her.

MPs to get another enormous inflation-busting salary increase, boosting earnings to well over £84,000 (nearly €94,000) up from about £62,000 in 2010. Atop of this, they can also claim expenses - sometimes up to £100,000 per year.
Those on select commitees get, in addition, £15k-plus. In the same time a police officer's starting salary has remained roughly the same - an effective 14% reduction; nurses have received a paycut of more than 7%. TDs get yet more, however. A starting salary of more than €96k per annum.

MP's for Sunderland Centre and Newcastle sharing an embarrassing story about Boris Johnson today regarding the tier restrictions.
Boris was pushing for the full lockdown restrictions but their conference call had to be paused as they both mentioned the MP's for Sunderland East and Sunderland West weren't in the call - Boris did not know that these constituencies existed

The long awaited Labour party self-implosion begins.
Corbyn suspended in light of the party found 3 counts of discrimination and antisemitism. Team Keir vs Team Corbyn inter-party war incoming.

Most of 'Team Corbyn'() have long gone and any at that are left will go now. A couple of MPs may go out of loyalty, some won't out of self-preservation.

Or rather the witch hunt reaches the inevitable conclusion it was specifically designed for You literally cannot defend yourself from an allegation now as regards anti-Semitism and it's classed as guilt by the same people who stand by and allow anti-Semitism run rife through British politics Establishment British politics has zero interest in rooting out anti-Semitism |

I see Stephen Kinnock heavily criticised the Israeli government last week in a perfectly legitimate way and has been now accused of anti-Semitism
Starmer has to realise that what started as an actual anti-Semitic campaign against Ed Miliband, morphed into a vilification of Corbyn, and is now after Kinnock - who is the very definition of a milquetoast centrist - is not going to stop here It's going to come for Starmer too and is already being framed to do so in such way by the Tory press Starmer was a very prominent front bencher under Corbyn and he will not escape this vilification campaign either Because none of it is about anti-Semitism - it is about fracturing and destroying the left - permanently British politics has descended into a Kafka-esque nightmare where the anti-racists are smeared as racists and the racists are painted as anti-racists |

How should it have been dealt with then? People on here were saying it was a witch hunt before the election - Labour didn't show themselves to be obviously doing something about and it will have contributed in some way to what happened in the election (though may not have been the main reason).

You do realise that the Blairites were the ones doing nothing about anti-Semitism allegations during Corbyn's leadership because they wanted him out? And that Corbyn in fact had to intervene to speed up the anti-Semitism investigation processes within the party as a result of this? Which the report criticises him for! But even the report today admits that Labour's investigation processes as regards anti-Semitism improved under Corbyn How is it that Kinnock of all people is now being painted as an anti-Semite? This will not stop at Kinnock, it is designed to destroy the party permanently Anti-Semitism is a uniquely damaging allegation and the whole of the British right knows this, why is why they have gone big on it And we all know what it comes down to - Israel Israel has a government that wants people like Trump and Johnson in power and will vilify anybody who calls out Israel in a legitimate manner by using the Kafka-esque smear of anti-Semitism Bernie Sanders supports Palestinian freedom? Well, guess what, bogusly smear him as an anti-Semite, despite him being Jewish Alan Duncan, a Tory, was bogusly smeared as anti-Semite for being that rare thing - a Tory who was prepared to criticise Israel Edited by sid waddell - 29 Oct 2020 at 6:03pm |

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/apr/12/hostility-to-corbyn-curbed-labour-efforts-to-tackle-antisemitism-says-leaked-report A leaked internal report into Labour’s handling of antisemitism concludes that factional hostility to Jeremy Corbyn hampered the party’s efforts to tackle the problem. ------ The new internal report, seen by the Guardian, said it had found no evidence of antisemitism complaints being treated differently to other forms of complaint, or of current or former staff being “motivated by antisemitic intent”. But the 860-page document said it uncovered many failings in the process for tackling antisemitism complaints before Jennie Formby, the current general secretary, took over in 2018. The report said there was an “abundant evidence of a hyper-factional atmosphere prevailing in party HQ in this period, which appears to have affected the expeditious and resolute handling of disciplinary complaints”. The report said it might not seem immediately clear why this is relevant but “many staff, including GLU [governance and legal unit] staff and senior staff with responsibility for managing and overseeing GLU, were bitterly opposed to the leadership of Jeremy Corbyn, and seem to have been demotivated, or largely interested in work that could advance a factional agenda”. It said: “At its extreme, some employees seem to have taken a view that the worse things got for Labour the happier they would be, since this might expedite Jeremy Corbyn’s departure from office. Further, there is little evidence of strong management of procedures, workloads and priorities in HQ, which also impacted GLU’s work.” |

It depends which Israeli politician you're talking to so not 100% true. Nethanyahu doesn't have a preferred candidate evidenced by above but the majority yes.

Of course Netanyahu has a preferred candidate - Trump Netanyahu has huge ties to the Kushner family Netanyahu expects Biden to win, that's why he didn't criticise him, also because Biden's policy on Israel is no different to your average bog standard US foreign policy on Israel - which is always totally pro-Israel Far right government in Israel now is effectively permanent - Benny Gantz is little different to Netanyahu |
