No they wouldn't. It'll get extended if there's another referendum or GE. They won't give an extension if the Brits are only going to go around in circles

Yes they certainly would. They simply do not want a hard border on the Irish border which would happen because there's no backstop, one of their non-negotiable red lines. On a more colourful note, John Bercow has hit the World Media's attention for his performance yesterday - https://twitter.com/CBCTheNational/status/1085560434789412864 |

Coyner, the issue is broader than the backstop. I understand how important it is, and the historical and contemporary importance, but there are many issues at play, and in a game of political chicken, I suspect the EU feel they are now in a strong position either to secure another referendum or ensure negotiations take place with someone else.
The last two days have been major defeats for the Brexit movement. The person who needs to deliver it is significantly weakened, and that weakening is a result of the defeat on Tuesday which buried the only alternative to a new referendum or a hard Brexit.

An extension is needed. There's simply not enough time to get all the legislation through parliament before the 29th March. Something like 9 Acts need to be passed.
I can see the EU agreeing to extend Art 50 by two months with the Brits being told (with a deal or not) where to go prior to the European Parliamentary elections in May. |

There may well be a protective holding period, but that would be with very strict terms and might only occur if something concrete is hammered out. The fact that the EU would rather Brexit be scrapped means they will do all they can to avoid it, but if it can’t be and no movement appears in terms of a deal they won’t be offering the UK an indefinite postponement.

The Government isn't actually the issue now.
It's the scourge within the Tory party also known as the ERG, or simply known as the Brexit group. I reckon a new bill could be drafted and passed within a month if it wasn't for them for the following reasons; They're the only people who are opposing being in the Customs Union and Single Market They're the only ones opposing still being part of the ECJ They're now championing a No-Deal Brexit The simple question would be why doesn't she tell them to get f**ked? Well that's the problem with only having a minority government, they'd raise absolute hell and it'd collapse. They're effectively a sub-party with their own ideologies and policies within a party with a weak leader who is constantly at ransom to do this and to do that otherwise she's gone.

The problem is, there are a lot of Brexiteers who would be okay with a deal but not with remaining tied to the ECJ or the existing financial and economic unions. I think you’d struggle to find a soft brexiteer like that who wants almost all the key aspects of the Union, while leaving and dropping all representation at all levels, and in particular, the commission, and to a lesser extent the Parliament. I think even the most braindead of voter understands what they want from Brexit, and that ranges from a hard Brexit, to (potentially pie in the sky) trade deals with the EU, and a relationship which allows the UK derive the benefits, without any of the terms and conditions that come with membership. The Eu has become aware of how strong it’s position is and single members should avoid conflict as best it can.

Tommy Robinson at it again. Travelled all the way up to Glasgow to berate an SNP MP for comments he made in October about Robinson. The clown spent an hour outside a library where Stewart McDonald was holding an MP surgery. Cops were called and McDonald escorted out of the building as wee Tommy looked on. What a muppet

A poll which surveyed 52,000 people living in Sunderland, 57% said they’d still leave if they had to vote tomorrow I guess they really hate Nissan. Stupid non British cars

I've read that Sunderland will be one of the very hardest hit areas in England with Brexit and particularly no deal Brexit but yet these turkeys would still insist on voting for Christmas. Absolute morons. They deserve the hardest of hard Brexits.

As much as it will affect me living here, all of Britain does. They need to realise their place in the world, that the empire is over and that it wasn't great for the world. A massive, massive reality check is needed in this country and this may be it.

I agree. A hard Brexit will teach them some humility. Unfortunately a hard Brexit badly hurts Ireland.

Ignorance and stupidity doesn't merit being taught humility, should be pitied more than anything.
