In summary, Theresa May is going down the Peter O'Hanraha-Hanrahan route, and wants the rest of the UK to do the same.

May only got a majority in her Cabinet, 10 opposed.
Put that figure on top of the 40 Tories who want her out, Labour MPs and SNP MPs. On paper its hard to see how it will even come close to passing

These Tory brexit lads don't do little details like that, they'll wait for the first buffoon like Boris or JRM to claim he has read it & hates it, and then all follow suit saying much the same thing. Saves them reading it, not that they would be able to understand it in the first place. Some time later, it will then turn out that neither of the lads who claimed to read it will have read it either. This isn't going anywhere though, is it ? There isn't any way that they can keep their own lunatics, (an excellent combination of right wing millionaires and terminally stupid people) the EU/Irish & the DUP happy, which has been the problem from the very first day. They'd be doing exceptionally well to make even one of those crowds happy, 2 of them being satisfied would require a substantial political feat, and 3 is unachievable in reality. The old reality isn't a huge strong point with either the lads who are used to seeing their vast amounts of money overcome all obstacles, nor the terminally stupid, who neither understand what it is they are dealing with, nor want understand it in the first place. The DUP live in some class of alternative reality in the 1600's, so that's a tough one to penetrate as well. Getting it through cabinet ? A party leader can get the people she appointed herself, to agree with her on policy (for a few hours anyway) & this is supposed to be some sort of political achievement ?? The bar for these things gets lower all the time. |

The EU facilitated it for May to fudge it enough to get it over the line. Make no mistake about it the final outcome will be what the EU or more succinctly the banks and corporation's that control the EU want. May will be toast and the UK economy (now the EUs biggest competitor) will stagnate. The UKs hope is that enough MPs have the backbone to reject the deal and stand up for their constituents.

Every member of the Cabinet is a traitor to the British people. They should hang their head in shame. They will go down in history as lily livered cowards that contrived to sell out our precious union. May must be removed as a matter of urgency #Brexit Poor Jamie Bwyson |

It might be a good night for some 'Day Today'. It says it all about the level of politicians around today that there is little or no decent satire about.

It's been known for months what's in the deal. It's so well known I could summarise 533 pages in 1 paragraph, you fail to see why the Cabinet ministers are actually pissed off - May pretty much sold out, prolonging her stay as PM as much as possible without negotiation over the National interest. The 533 pages is basically this: You have the exact same deal you have right now except from
Boris and JRM are very correct in labelling the deal turning the country into a vassal state, for the next 3 years the UK will be told what the EU says without actually being in the EU. It's like having a job role at work as an Assistant Manager and being asked to go down to Trainee role, but having the same responsibility as the previous role and you're still the Managers bitch but on less salary, you wouldn't do it would you. And I'm no expert, but I don't think this is what 52% of the country voted for either. Great deal if you're living in Ireland however, Leo Varadkar probably went to bed tonight feeling as popular as St. Patrick knowing he got everything he wanted plus more knowing the DUP's constituents are about to revolt against them.

The Brits have royally shafted themselves with this withdrawal agreement. Where it goes from here I do not know...one thing's for sure it ain't passing a vote in the Commons.
EDIT: It might not even get to a vote. First resignation has just happened, a junior minister who was previously a remainer. Edited by colemanY2K - 15 Nov 2018 at 8:07am |
