The whole Mané discussion is embarrassing. It's 100% a red card. It shouldn't even be up for debate. If you kick somebody in the head, at that force, with your studs showing there is no other outcome.

If it was Ederson came out and kicked Mané and no red card was forthcoming I have no doubt the same Liverpool fans who have the cheek to dispute the red card would be crying the victim and saying the refs are against them and he should have walked.

The issue is consistency.

You can't have Mane getting a straight red and then Richie walking away with a yellow.

Mane should have a strong case to get it rescinded.

How? John Moss was correct and applied the rules.

Just because a referee the next day failed to do this, doesn't mean that there's any chance the red card for Mane should be rescinded

He has no case, if anything Ritchie's yellow should be upgraded but that won't happen.

If it was a slide tackle, eyes on the ball and 2 feet in the air, makes contact with the knee it's a red. Mane is no different.

Exactly there is no case what so ever for getting it rescinded. The referee was 100% correct.

In the opening weeks of the season City have had players sent off, one for looking back at a player before backing into him, and the second for celebrating an injury time winner, yet there are calls to rescind a red card were a keeper was studded in the face and sent to hospital

LOLLOLLOLLOLEmbarrassed

Both incidents were second yellow cards and not straight reds so they can't be rescinded

Smiley emoji boy is back

And neither can this be rescinded, as it was the correct call by the ref.
My point is suck it up and get on with it (like the two incidents I talked about) and quit yapping about a correct decision

Your point is suck it up and get on with it but you're still going on about it a few weeks later like a little girl. Some man for one man

Simply making the point that no one seemed to care when City had two players harshly (IMO) sent off, but its the biggest talking point of the season so far when a correct call was made against a Liverpool player

I doubt you'll see many reds as blatant this year as Mane's IMO

definitely a red. I mean, watching the replays, the long ball from matip has bounced so at this stage it's a race between the two. mané is well aware of the keeper coming out to compete for the ball. in these scenarios, because the ball is outside the box the keeper always attempts to play with his head. not that mané is going to attempt the same, but he should have an understanding that it is 50/50 and no way that he's favourite to reach the ball before the keeper. shouldn't have left his studs showing. klopp's reaction at the time is somewhat fair enough, but his comments in his post-match interview were just pathetic and quite immature. refs need to start sending him to the stands

Klopp gets away with a ridiculous amount on the sidelines tbf. He's the king of the over reaction amongst the managers.

Gary thought it shouldn't have been red but Phil on BBC said it was the right decision.
