it is a shambles that a top tier club has to field their reserves or B in the second tier of a national league. This is not directed at SRFC though so Dont take it personally. This soeaks volumes on football in the country as a whole. SRFC are doing what they have to as another option is not available to them and fair play in that regard.

Anyhow, this a discussion better suited currently to the First Division thread.

Bit harsh on Cabo. As someone who had a player with them last few years I see them trying to do things right from the bottom up unlike some clubs who go from boom to bust which is going to happen to a club presently at the top. Yes Cabo pitch is terrible for 4 months but they have a forward focus not just a day to day focus. Every year they have improved their position in 1st division so unfair comments on a club doing their best and doing a good job at doing their best.

I would assume they are part-time which would be standard.  They will bring a lot of expertise to the FAI board.  The new CEO will no doubt face challenging board meetings.

Thanks Gary that's what I thought. I would think and hope that the CEO position is full time.

Non-exec directors in most cases would only pledge a couple of hours a week (at most)to Board matters. I’m assuming the appointees in this case however have committed a good bit more than that for the forseeable future

It is a disaster. They will be like UCD. We need real clubs that can grow a fans base. You're not going  to be able to have rivalries etc with Micky Mouse teams. That's why they didn't B teams into UK leagues.

If UEFA have been advancing future revenue to the FAI, will we not be screwed whenever these payments would have come naturally as we will have a funding shortfall then?
