YBIG statement in support of our leader, Executive President Mr John Delaney YBIG would like to pay tribute to John Delaney and acknowledge all the hard work he has done during his time as CEO of the FAI, particularly for the fans. While he has turned many a sod in Ireland, he has raised a glass in many pubs and has led many sing songs for Ireland fans all over Europe. He has given up family time to do so, and has also donated ties to Ireland fans. He is one of us, the dear leader of our beloved football family. Who can forget when he ran the length of the pitch to fist pump the fans and throw us a tie against Estonia? He is a real fan and deserves every penny of his €360k salary. When we were stuck in Bratislava, who sorted a train full of cans and disco music to Zilina? Our man John. In 2014, there was much criticism over the handling of tickets for the away match in Scotland. Back then, many fans who had travelled all over Europe to watch Ireland did not get a ticket. It was reported in the Sunday Times yesterday that John Delaney keeps hundreds of tickets for matches for himself, to give to friends and “people of influence”. Despite speaking out against the Executive Vice President at the time, we now realise that “influential people” are of more importance than fans. Getting the Under 17s European Championships to Ireland is one of the biggest things to ever happen this country. Now we join Cyprus, Israel, Scotland, Leichtenstein and Azerbaijan who have all hosted of this tournament. As well as 30 odd other European countries. This is all down to the hard work of John. John also deserves huge praise for the Vantage Club ticket scheme. They could have cost you up to €32k when they were launched, but under John’s stewardship that price has now fallen to €5k. In light of all of the above, YBIG can also exclusively reveal that we are teaming up with John for a charity single, Joe McDonnell, with all proceeds going towards the John Giles Foundation and the FAI employee rent scheme. John Delaney – arguably the most successful CEO we have ever had.

And who shafted him ? Yes you are correct - JD. Because he blamed O’Byrne for shafting his father over his ticket dealings with George the Bubble an’ Squeek the lost the FAI €140k at USA94.
