the old FAI is indeed alive and well with Fitzroy and Conway in Tallaght tonight. Wonder where will Fitzroy be fitted in. Maybe Quinn and Kerr are right the whole lot of them should have gone.

The FAI is rotten at the top level, I don’t think anyone with a right mind could argue otherwise. Niall Quinn is free to point this out and brain dead people will thinks great for speaking the truth But Niall Quinn is in this argument for his own personal gain, thankfully the loi clubs want nothing to do with his proposals as, much like him, they’re full of hot air.
The only issue I have with Kerr is leaking this story and not leaking the full story of what happened. He says Mooney shouted to him across 3 rows when they were seen together before and after the game in question, it’s also clear something has been lost in this story whether that was on Kerr’s side or Mooney’s it remains to be seen but it still doesn’t warrant running to the papers over it. He’s been treated dreadfully by the fai in the past no question but here the facts point to crosses wires. Giles has also come out of this week looking pretty poor sadly. Releasing a statement to OTB and not allowing any questions on the subject is a sad indictment on the work The Times are doing uncovering this web of fraud |

The cynic in me suspects the FAI are courting the likes of Kerr and Quinn to i) get some much needed public support; ii) silence and potentially implicate vocal FAI critics in the internal dealings of the 'new' FAI.
Whatever anyone thinks of Kerr and Quinn; I think the FAI ploy is relatively clear and both Kerr and Quinn and anyone else with any credibility is right to tell them where to go until there is a complete clear out. |

Totally agree. Sure weren’t many from ybig in bed with Delaney in the early days especially and it looks like some can’t see what’s happening here. Same mistakes in danger of being made. This is the same fai regime. If they get Quinn and Kerr on board, it looks great for them. Kerr was right to tell them to f*** off. And he has enough credit in the bank compared to that disgraceful organization to stir it a bit so that the fai tactic is highlighted as much as it can be. Brian Kerr should be involved in Irish football. But not until the old regime and anybody in any way associated with it is gone from it

There were a lot of ex internationals who were on the payroll at the Fai so don’t expect too many to comment on the current situation,

Houghton cares about FAI money and free drink.
That’s about it for ray really, what would you expect from someone whose solution to poor attendance at league game was “They should invest heavily in improving their stadiums and fans will come”!!!! Edited by oldbilly - 31 Aug 2019 at 1:33pm |

If only the FAI had a Media Watchdog, this story would never have leaked!

Fitzroy only made a very odd appearance in his ‘local’ since the story broke but obviously more at home in the company of fellow Directors that failed to fulfill their duties
