For reasons I don't fully understand, but linked to their ongoing financial issues, Derby have been told they're not allowed to use any further youth team players beyond the ones they have already used until their transfer embargo restrictions are lifted or they sell some players. So it looks like Cashin won't be featuring for a while unfortunately.

It's a shame O'Reilly isn't getting a look in, he looks a good player but possibly just at the wrong club for bringing through younger players.

Roughan also needs a move I think, Lincoln don't have much of an underage setup, so if he's not getting near the first team, he's unlikely to be playing much football at all - similar problem to O'Reilly.

personally I think O'Reilly needs to get out of PNE, he has proven during his loan spell at Waterford what a good player he is. I know he thought highly of Marc Bircham so that may open up another avenue for him. No sure whats left on his contract at PNE, I think it's 12 months so maybe they might leave him go if an opportunity arose for him.
time is the stuff that life is made of, don't waste it.

Just good to see that Jimmy Dunne is starting for QPR. Masterson on the bench too, I believe he's rumoured to go on loan.

They're hardly "underage squads / best prospects" at this stage, they both turning 23 and 24 shortly.

Not exactly established first teamers yet either.

Would fear the opposite, that starting today means he won't be a league player, he didn't play the weekend

Although better than Masterson at least, who didn't play in either game. Probably a League 1 loan again for him.

Didn't start tonight but good experience for Rocco Vata to be playing for Celtic B in the Lowland League. While that level is a waste of time for the likes of Connell and O'Connor, given that he's only recently turned 15 it's a good level for him to be playing at.

Not quite underage but Colm Whelan at UCD is having some goalscoring season 15 goals and 7 assists in 17 games this season? Irish 2nd division is about 6th/7th tier English football but surely at the rate he’s scoring he will attract some interest higher up soon be it from the top Irish clubs or abroad?

Jonathan Afolabi missed from the spot as Ayr were eliminated from the Scottish League Cup on penalties. St. Mirren eliminated on penalties as well.

U19 squad has 4 players (Callum Sullivan, Tommy Fogerty, John-Jo Power, Fionn O’Brien) are all from the same school (St. Peter’s) which I work at. I was their manager for 5 years for school team.
Luke Pearce is also another St. Peter’s lad who is off to Hungary next sat for 2 friendlies.
It’s also the school that our friend Mr Grealish attended. Let’s hope none of these 5 do the same.

Some achievement 👏 What did you think of Grealish when younger?

Fair play. You must have had a tidy team there.

There's a decent chance none of them will play a senior professional game, let alone have the choice of which country to play for.
