Europe's merry band of brothers
Have proved they are better than all the others
A continent unites in joy
With GMac, Rose and McIlroy (urgh)
In singles, foursomes and fourballs
We beat the Yanks  back to Niagara Falls
The bagpipes blare in the Scottish sky
Europe the brave is the deafening cry
Watson's men they came to win
They thought their shots would pepper the pin
But our heroes united as a team
And the Yanks they did run out of steam
In every city and every nation
We'll raise a toast in celebration
The bonfires blaze from Knocknagoshel to Rome
The Ryder Cup is coming home!

Alexander "Sandy" Lyle must be our next captain, with Miguel Angel Jimenez being promoted to chief vice-captain.

He will be on the Late Late next Friday night launching it all. As a matter of interest how is the captain selected? I would have thought that the likes of Harrington, major winner and Ryder cup player would be a more suitable candidate.

Nick faldo is a multiple major winner and worst captain in a long time. Honours do not make one a good captain. McGinley has been vice captain a few times and raised his game for the Ryder cup. I am sure poulter may be a captain some day. Montgomerie never won a major and was captain.

Hans Gruber watching with a tear in his eye as Ode to Joy being played at the closing ceremony. Proud day to be European sticking it to the yanks.

Makes it all the better although still doesn't top the look on their faces from 2 years ago
Eamonn Dunphy:"I'll tell you who wrote it, Rod Liddle, he's the guy who ran away and left his wife for a young one".

The Ryder Cup is the pinnacle of golf. Losing hurts. But I was tremendously impressed with Captain Watson's gracious and dignified words, in contrast to McGinley's stuttering, Bertie Ahern-esque embarrassment of a speech.

Tom Watson only goes up in my estimation. A true gentleman.

Paul McGinley what an orator, must be the best winning speech in the history of the Ryder Cup delivered with aplomb

Phil is not a happy bunny! Already sticking the knife into Watson which is understandable. It was a mad call yesterday

Poulter kissing Garcia

I'd say most of the European team would be great craic to be on the lash with
Eamonn Dunphy:"I'll tell you who wrote it, Rod Liddle, he's the guy who ran away and left his wife for a young one".

Bill O'Herlihy: Ah ye can't be saying that now Eamonn

What's Big Phil been saying about Watson? He's not the type to shoot off the mouth...the fallout will be more interesting then the competition.
Romario 2016: And the ticket mafia gets caught! Well, four years ago I had already told the government.

Just watching the replay on the beeb and am thinking they should do away with bunkers, there is no penalty for these guys when they go in it is actually easier chipping from them than the rough
