I think McGinley will pick Gallacher (assuming Gmac qualifies), Poulter and Westwood. And I think that'd be the way to go. C'mon Europe!!

He's like Seve in terms of his passion for it. Was a big influence in Europe's win last time out. Will be a Ryder Cup captain in 10 years time or so

I'd go for Donald for his putting alone, think I heard last week or week before he's still in the top few on the pga tour for putts taken, its the rest of his game thats gone to sh*t and in foursomes his putting could be crucial

Why do folk say Poulter is a shoe in? his form is terrible - do like Monty and bring him in as a v/c like Sergio did at Celtic Manor.

-Donald at least has putting form
-Gallacher defo deserves it
-and I'd actually go for Molinari as the last pick for me (though like you all I'd expect Poulter is the last pick)

Donald and Gallagher are the best of the rest. Poulter will prob get the last spot as he brings so much extra to the Ryder.
Westwood is so out of form.

Poulter, Gallagher and Westwood are the picks. No way Westwood should be in ahead of Donald and Molinari imo

Donald is a much better putter than Westwood tho.

I'm happy with the overall team. I expect team USA to really fight for this one and for another close match.

Wouldnt have been keeping a close eye on him but anytime i've seen him , he has one good round in him then fades badly.

Westwood and poulter very much the safe picks so the media dont start on him if things went wrong imo. But the teams picked now and glad he went for Gallacher - should get the home crowd buzzing at least

Clarke not going to be one of the other two vice captains as he'll be working for Sky at the Ryder Cup. Jiminez is still nailed on to be one of them and I think Harrington will be the other. Wouldn't be surprised if those two were the next two captains.

America have 8 of the top 15 in the world in their team.
Europe have 3 but still the favourites...

Gotta love the Ryder Cup.

Anybody know why Clarke is not a vice captain? Did he have a falling out by not getting picked as Captain.
I know he is doing the sky presenting but thats not the reason why he is not involved.

Some good potential pairings
I'd go for
Rose/poulter
Westwood/kaymer
Mcilroy/gmac
Garcia/dubison

As for merica
Mickelson/Bradley
Watson/speith
Fowler/walker
Johnson/Mahan

Playing four groups of three today:

1. McIlroy, Kaymer, Garcia
2. McDowell, Dubuisson, Stenson.
3. Rose, Poulter, Gallacher
4. Bjorn, Westwood, Donaldson

Captain Paul McGinley had cast doubt about putting the Northern Irish pair together when the event proper gets underway on Friday when he spoke to the media on Monday.

There has been talk of a feud between the former World Cup partners, with McIlroy involved in an ongoing court case with his former management company, the same company that currently looks after McDowell, although that was played down by McGinley and later by McDowell as well.

"Both of them have assured me all along that there are no issues and that's the way I've always seen it," McGinley said. "Whether they come together or not is another story.

"Three or four months ago, I had a very strong view that they would have been, but the more I look at their statistics and the more I look at the different value I have with them, I'm thinking there may be value in not doing it.

Some great match ups, would love to say 4-0 Europe but I'll be realistic and say 2.5-1.5
Think bubba and Simpson will have too much for rose/stenson
Next match has halved written all over it
Poulter going to destroy the rookies
And world no1 will show what he is made of
