He's expected back for Preston's game on Saturday: https://www.irishmirror.ie/sport/soccer/soccer-news/alan-browne-set-preston-return-24843575. Why on earth isn't he in the squad for us?

Kenny said he could join up with the squad if he recovers. He has a knock as well.

His form has been brutal. Unlikely to positivity change the outcome of any game

He's a better player than Molumby and Arter and getting significantly more game time than either. He's made more of an impact for us recently than, arguably, any of our other midfielders. I'd take him, poor form or not, over players who've barely started over the last 12 months for their clubs. |

I'd have him starting if he was fit. He is a better option than nearly any other midfielder available, sadly that is a sad reflection on our midfield as opposed to a compliment to Browne. Although I think he has been one of Kennys better performers.

2 years ago browne was one of the better midfielders in the championship, I'm not sure what's happened since then but he's been really bad for Preston and playing today he was out of his depth.
Worked really hard but misplaced passes, lost control. Not sure what happened

Did he have Covid the week before last? I thought he looked shattered after 20 minutes, which might explain it

I just dont see much in him. I never really have. He wouldn't be my choice in midfield anyway.

I've never rated Browne too highly. He seems to have stagnated at a poor Preston side and I just can't see him progressing at club level or for us. He's had plenty of chances but I'm yet to see it with him. Very poor tonight. A sqaud player at best

Never seen him replicate his club form for Ireland. Not at international level at all.

Went off the boil at Preston the season before last, made the silly decision to stay and sign a new contract there when couple bigger clubs were in for him. Of course he hasnt been helped in recent months with Covid and Injuries. Didnt he have surgery over the summer?
