Good article from Dan McDonnell in the Indo today highlighting the need to look after the regular fans who go to games if this games does go ahead in Gibraltar (FAI still have the option of raising concerns about the venue).

A couple of things,

Why if staying in the costa del sol or albufeira look to commute down on match day in all likely to watch Ireland v the mighty Gibraltar on a tv or half way up a mountain. If I was booked into faro or malaga id be staying there if I thought I had little chance of a ticket.

Some mad prices of accommodation would be enough to put people off unless ya stay on the Spanish side of the border and even then it’s still very costly.

Yeah noticed nothing cheap on booking.com, still a few reasonably priced air bnb's. I see some are staying in La Linea (sp?) but its not very pleasing on the eye apparently. Something tells me this could be an epic trip.

I’ve booked the same hotel as Paulie. With a pool. The thoughts of seeing him waltz around in a pair of speedos for 4 days promises it to be an horrendous trip. Next Greenforever will arrive in in same

It’ll only be likes of Cronin and the moth and the McGarry sisters looking for a quiet weekend away that’ll be heading to Marbs itself. It’s a free world, leave them to it.

You’ll also find Tic Tac mick there hiding from Clarkey, Sham and Drummerboy.

There aren't any.

In fact, I think the line from Malaga to Algeciras might be closed at the minute for renovation works. I have no idea when it might reopen.

I have a hotel booked 500m from the rock. I am only there for 3 nights so I can't be arsed travelling here or there. I'd say I have no chance of a ticket so a spot will be found at the fence or the hill overlooking the pitch.
