Is it not a case of the exotic erotic again here? The lad was struggling in L1 not long ago, a move to the Netherlands has been great for him, but the standard, outwith the big lads is fairly poor.
I would imagine that if he was starring for Kilmarnock there would be a lot less clamour for him to be capped.
In saying that, our paucity of options means everybody should be looked at.

True.

He was 18/19 playing league 1 football and he is a small lad not exatcly suited to the style played down there. Not like we have an abundance of attacking play makers plying there trade in Britain now is it.

I wouldn't say there is a massive amount between SPFL dross and Eredivisie dross.

Don't think it is the case. He has plenty of talent and playing at a decent standard (the Dutch have called up a number of players from the Eredivise to recent squads) and seems to have finally got his act together. Also he is a creative player of which we have very few, so If I was MON I would make a point of trying to get him on board.

The most recent Dutch squads have seen two Dutch based players outside the big three; a third choice goalkeeper and a young midfielder at AZ.

I'm not saying Crowley isn't good enough, just that the clamour for him to be called up is based on nothing of substance. He certainly should be looked at, but I wouldn't be getting carried away over a few good games for a mid-table Eredivisie side.

Why wait? Call him up and see if he's up to it. At this stage I don't think we can be to fussy or snobby about where our lads play and the fact he has ability that few others of our present squad possess should encourage MON to take a look.

Why not call everybody up so? For all we know, he could be watched regularly. I admit this is unlikely due to the FAI's incompetence, but has anybody who is shouting for him to be called up actually watched him this season? It is similar with Ryan Nolan, turning an assumption into a cause célèbre.

As an aside, is he still eligible for the 21s?

I think MON is trying his best on that score..latest squad 32? As I mentioned before the reason I would big on Crowley is due to his creative ability and the fact he is playing first team footaball in Holland should not deter a call up.

Re the 21's question..not sure but I know if he did play for our 21's he would be locked down.
